“Grabbed the Motion Sensor add-on to go with our LightRanger 1200 after realizing how annoying it was to keep walking over and clicking the light on/off every time we came back to camp after dark. Plugs right into the USB-C port on top, took about ten seconds to attach.
It works exactly how you'd want...walk within range and the light pops on, no more fumbling around trying to find a button in the dark with your hands full of firewood or grocery bags. The daylight sensor is a nice touch too, it won't trigger during the day so you're not wasting battery on false activations from birds or whatever wandering by at noon.
I adjusted the sensitivity down a bit because at max range it was picking up movement from the trail near our site, not just our actual campsite. Once I dialed it in to a tighter range it's been spot on. The auto shut-off timer is adjustable too, we keep it at the shorter end since we're usually only walking through, not standing around.”

“I purchased this to upgrade our LightRanger setup. It is an awesome addition. We can now leave our LightRanger powered on after we go to bed at night, but the light will only come on when we step back out of the tent or if someone/something approaches our campsite. We never had an issue with the LightRanger's battery life, but this unit does help extend it when we use the motion feature while sitting around the campfire, since the light only comes on when someone gets up and moves around. Very handy. The coverage is not quite 360 degrees, but it's sufficient to cover almost every direction someone/something approaches from. It has adjustments for how sensitive the motion detection is and how long the light stays on after movement stops. Extremely handy and useful unit. Very happy with it.”
