This tour exposed us to a large number of birds within multiple habitats in the company of knowledgeable and supportive guides. It doesn't get any better than that!

The tour featured many good sites in southern Ontario for migrating birds, plus the different birds of Algonquin Park. However, I found the tour overall too long and tiring - and I wasn't alone in this view. I did see wonderful Warblers and other tropical migrants, but saw no Owls, few Hawks and Common Loons. Most participants missed seeing the one Woodcock display and land near our motel in Algonquin Park. The tour guide did a great job with all the driving and bird-finding, and he found good restaurants and produced good picnic lunches. But I found him quite quiet, and wished he could explain things to us a bit more -- about bird migration, species behaviour, the various habitats that we encountered etc. On the whole, I think this tour is designed for expert birders who don't need much guidance from the leader, and who have the stamina to handle 5 hours of walking per day, and less than 6 hours sleep each night. I also wish there had been less emphasis on listing every bird seen, and more emphasis on the actual immediate experience of birding and having a lasting, positive memory to recall later. A list of birds seen is handy, but it's the memory of birds seen that is the key joy for me. I know at least one other Canadian tour company that focuses on the adventure and great memories the tour provides. I hope you find my feedback helpful.

Nick was a great guide. Knowledgeable. Good people skills. Good personality. An asset to the company. On the minus side, some of the places we stay, left a lot to be desired. Perhaps look in to better accommodations.

Guides were excellent birders, but need to improve on leadership for the tour. Often seemed too focussed on finding birds of (their) interest rather than making sure everyone in the tour had a chance to see many birds. They needed to become more familiar with the tour birding sites.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, John. We’re very glad to hear you found the tour to be a fantastic experience, and appreciate your comments about your experience with our guides. We wanted to share that our original guide—who is not only deeply experienced but also highly familiar with this region—was unfortunately unable to join the tour at the last minute due to a family emergency. We fully understand how this unexpected change may have affected some aspects of the tour, and we sincerely thank you for your understanding during this unforeseen situation. We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you on another tour soon—with the full experience we always strive to deliver.
