Jul 25 - Aug 4, 2026 | Join our Southeast Arizona birding tour, where we will be targeting the borderland specialties like Elegant Trogon, Spotted Owl, Rose-throated Becard, Mexican Chickadee, Thick-billed Kingbird and many more! This tour is timed for the start of the monsoon season, known also as the second spring; the desert blossoms at this time, and it is the best season to find many of the hummingbirds and other specialties for which the region is famous.

Such a beautiful and diverse part of the US. We had exceptional guides and good fellow birders to travel the S. E. Corner of Arizona. Our guides, Skye Haas and Louie Dombrowski really are familiar with locations and both brought great talents to the tour. Both have extensive birding experience and are gracious in sharing their love of Arizona.

The guides were great, really worked to find the birds and make sure we all saw them. We were caught in a terrible hailstorm coming down a steep switchbacks narrow dirt road in the Chiricahuas, but the guides did an incredible job of driving down. I never felt worried.

The dynamic schedule changes for this tour ensured that all participants had the maximum opportunities to see target and life list birds. Skye Haas responded to alerts and notifications from his network of friends and guides to give us a great experience. We ate well and stayed at higher elevations during the heat wave where the birds were most active. Anyone interested in seeing a big list of Arizona summer time birds should consider this tour.
