This 20 MOA Picatinny Rail is designed for the Savage Axis and Edge platforms, providing the extra elevation travel needed to reach out past 600 yards. By angling your scope downward, the 20 MOA cant allows you to utilize more of your scope's internal adjustment, ensuring you don't bottom out your turret when dialing for distance. We have eliminated the guesswork regarding screw sizes. Savage has transitioned some Axis models to larger #8-40 screws, while older models use #6-48. We include both sets of screws in the package. Why choose 20 MOA?
If you plan to shoot long range (generally past 600 yards), a 20 MOA base is essential. It tilts the scope to give you 20 extra minutes of "up" elevation, preventing you from running out of adjustment when dialing for drop.
I have a short action (.223/.243). Will this fit?
Yes. Savage builds all Axis rifles on a single "Long Action" receiver length, regardless of the caliber. This rail fits every caliber from .223 to .30-06.
Can I zero at 100 yards with 20 MOA?
Most modern scopes have enough internal travel to zero at 100 yards even with a 20 MOA base. However, we always recommend checking your scope's total travel specifications to be sure.
