This mount fits:Military Mauser This scope mount is made for Mausers with the stripper clip hump. Our Mauser 98 scope mount does not fit the 3000 L. Rail Type: One Piece PicatinnyMachined from: Domestic 6061 T6 Extruded AluminumFinish: Matte Black AnodizingCenter Spread: 4.275"Overall Length: 6.670"Height: .4" (Top of Receiver to Top of Picatinny)Weight: 2 oz.Quick Disconnect Ring Compatible: NoAmbidextrous: YesTorque Specs: 20 in/lbsMounting Hardware: #6-48 X 1/4 Screws and T-10 Bit Included We recommend measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions we have published. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type II anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). We recommend:0 MOA - if shooting 0-500 yards20 MOA - if shooting 500-1000 yardsWhen zeroing your rifle with a 20 MOA mount, we recommend zeroing at 200 yards. The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA. I purchased this product for a 1958 Israeli Mauser military surplus rifle chambered in 7.62. The fit and finish was perfect. The bolt on my Mauser had been professionally turned to allow for a scope. However, it would still occasionally bump against the scope eyepiece. The previous scope base from a different manufacturer wouldn’t allow for higher scope rings this one did. It really helped to have the scope base measurements posted online so i could verify with my calipers.

The quality of the 98 LR (3-hole) is very good. Unfortunately for me the drill pattern matches the front two holes perfectly, but the rear hole is to short. I have tried two different pre-drilled mounts, so it appears that the gunsmith drilled the holes to match a specific scope mount. I will be returning the item and ordering the undrilled 98 LR rail.

This was the basic part for me to convert my Mauser 98 (mfg in 1917) for a scope. The rail was the most important part and it fit great! There were a whole lot of other problems I had to deal with, but I eventually got something to work for my aging eyes, and the picatinny rail was the beginning!! Thanks for the quick response and have a merry Christmas!
