This mount fits:Ruger No.1 B Barrel ContourRuger No.1 S Barrel Contour We have found that Ruger No. 1's with 24"-26" barrels typically came with B or S contour barrels. Guns that came with shorter barrels typically came with A contour barrels. We have also found that guns in certain calibers have the holes in different locations. The recoil pin hole location on your barrel may be different from the recesses drilled in our mount. Ruger may place their recoil pins in different locations for different calibers. Our mount will still function properly with just the rear recoil lug and the mounting screws. Our mounts are designed to use the mounting screws as the primary recoil lugs. We recommend measuring the hole spacing in your receiver to confirm it matches with the dimensions we have published. Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. Our one-piece scope mounts are the obvious choice for hunters and tactical shooters alike. We machine these in our shop using one of our machining centers. After machining, the mounts are tumbled, sand blasted, and Type III anodized for long lasting durability. Installation: We recommend 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is available through our website and is sold separately). The entire mount and accessories (from the mounting screws and wrench down to the packaging) are made in the USA.  Warning: This product may be alloyed with trace amounts of lead and other elements which are known to the State of California to cause reproductive harm and cancer. The Picatinny rail for Ruger one B The rail is a little long and will need trimming 5/8 and 3/4 of an inch other than that I believe this is going to be better than factory original. It won’t have the look of the original, but the usability will be much better.

The screw holes were perfect, but the front recoil post hole was off by 3/16" and I had to drill it out. Very nice work otherwise which is why I gave you 3 stars instead of 1.

Thanks for the review. We have found that the pin locations on Ruger No1 s vary a bit and are rather inconsistent from the factory. We list the hole and pin locations and measurements under "specifications" on our mounts page. That way you know if it will be a drop on fit or not before you purchase the mount.

This did not fit the Ruger #1 in 405 Winchester even though the holes lined up. I ended up reprofiling it with my pantograph fixture in the milling machine (at which point I discovered that EGW had not cut the pattern in the center of the rail in the first place). All's well that ends well, but if you're looking for a drop in rail, this may or may not fit even if the hole spacing matches. Caveat Emptor. It would have been nice if the folks I talked to at EGW had just taken the time to warn me rather than telling me "If the hole pattern matches, then it will fit".

The picatinny rail mounted on my rifle ( 25-06) fairly easy. I had one hole that did not line up perfectly and I had to file the hole bigger to get the screw to go in without cross threading. The reason I bought this rail was because I could not get any scope to move rear wards enough so that I did not have to move my face forwards to see through the scope. This rail gave me another 1 1/2” that I can move the scope rewards and now I am happy. My Ruger #1 does not have that smooth slick race car look any more but it is way more functional and if you buy a gun to hunt with, functionality wins out over looks any day.
