“A Christmas day special for us. I slow roasted the 3.2kg forerib of beef at 60 degrees for 17 hours (7pm Christmas Eve to 12pm Christmas Day). Flavour was amazing, the meat was tender, moist and soft, with amazing flavour from the rendered fat within the joint. Our guests loved it and it was a brilliant alternative to the usual Goose/Turkey. If you have never tried a slow roasted forerib of beef then you are missing out - trust the process and you'll cook a stunning piece of beef. Highly recommended!”

“Sadly, as Farmison has exited their financial troubles, the quality of the product has gone down. The 160 GBP roast that was delivered to me for Christmas had disproportionally different sizes between one end and the other, making it nearly impossible to cook evenly. One end was quite obviously from the braising end of the rib and was 50% of the size of the other end of the rib roast that was delivered. I realise they are trying to maximize the use of the animal, but when you pay for a premium product, you really do expect a premium product. Luckily, I live near the Farmison shop and was able to return the item. They swapped it out for a different product, which allowed me to feed starving hordes arriving at my home the next day. Sadly, if I had NOT been within driving distance, I would have been stuffed. I have ordered from Farmison in the past, and the product has been substantially better, but I have noticed a drop in quality over the last year on a variety of different orders. Please get it together guys. I love supporting a local shop, but I won't keep paying premium prices for something that doesn't look anything like the product on the website.”

“As a Cumbrian living in Wales these past 50 years, I have always told the family that beef from the North of England is unbeatable. So they told me to get on and order it. All I can say is that the fore rib exceeded all expectations and my reputation as an expert on matters concerning butchery is now sky high.”

“Delicious. The meat had a good amount of fat and was excellent eaten as a rare roast on Christmas day. It was enough to serve 8 with plenty of leftovers.”
