“Professionally executed. I was making Kombucha long before hardly anyone in the US had heard about it, so it's a bit of a shock to take delivery on a lab-certified Kombucha starter culture. Surveying the options, I purchased 3 different ones, and this was the most professionally executed and even included a tip (using round coffee filters as a cover) that never occurred to me.”
“Grew another SCOBY! I have used the SCOBY to start making kombucha but haven't had a chance to taste it yet. I cut SCOBY in half to put in two different jars and, 7 days later, I now have a total of 4 SCOBYs! Grew very quickly and robustly. Excited to try the kombucha tonight and see what it tastes like.”
“Easy for absolute beginners. Clear instructions and nice packaging. My first batch is 2F and I've started another batch with this SCOBY (it's actually a pellicle). As the SCOBY is actually the liquid - this is what makes the kombucha - I wish a full 2 cups (16 ounces) were included instead of 12 ounces. The liquid is the key, not the pellicle per se. I recommend this kit for the price and the ease in getting set-up.7/7/19 update: My first 2F was a dud - I used honey and it killed the bacteria. I just tasted my 2nd batch (1F for 11 days at 80 degrees then 2F with strawberries only for 2 days room temp in the fridge for 1 day) and its perfect. Crisp, fizzy - Ive read that each batch will get better and that was the case for me. I also made sure to use 2 cups starter for this batch when I started it which also helped. Im very pleased with this product.”
