“Good stuff! The SCOBY (pellicle, really) fell to the bottom during fermentation and some almost black stuff started growing under it, along with other snotty stuff under the surface in the jar. But that was all to be expected and the kombucha came out great, with a new pellicle at the surface. I added mashed blackberries at bottling time, and saved enough plain 'booch to be a starter for the 2.5 gallon batch which I'm enjoying from my kegerator now. All the recipes recommend ~10% which means the 12oz you get in the package is perfect to start a 1 gallon batch. The starter tea is what really has the bacteria + yeast cultures that make your kombucha -- the pellicle really kinda just proves you had a good fermentation.”
“Great! Awesome for beginners. It does what it says. Great looking scoby, quality amount of starter tea, and the packaging was effective. It all went well. I've had 2 batches now, and am very pleased. Thank you.”
“Recieved on time. I don't know what I did wrong maybe my hone was too cool. Took to long to make but the scooby still looks but tge new one is very thin.”
“Dead scoby and excellent customer service. The scoby was apparently DOA ( dead on arrival) it would not activate. I am certain it was the Texas heat that killed it. Even though the fault did not rest with fermentaholics, they sent a replacement. Talk about excellent customer service!”
“Good product. The scoby was well packaged and delivered on time. When I got it the weather was very warm and the scoby balance was of. My first batch of kombucha was extremely yeasty. I had to research on how to balance it. I am on my third batch and hope this one comes out better as I think I have the bacteria:yeast better balanced now. Unfortunately I had to trash the first two batches of kombutcha”
