“Overall a nice, fast scooter, with excellent range. Looks are pretty killer too. Only have one issue with it that I hope will get resolved in the next few days. My issues is with the blue latch and safety lock/pin used to fold/lock the stem. Specifically, my scooter currently has problems with the safety pin not locking either in the folded or upright position. When I first got the scooter it was fine and I was able to fold and unfold with the pin locking in place. Now all of a sudden the safety pin/lock does not lock the scooter in either folded or upright position, no matter how hard I try. I think either the spring that pushes on the latch is weak, or perhaps the latch is getting jammed for some reason unrelated to the spring. I am working with tech support now to see if we can get this resolved. I need to fold the scooter for my commutes, so I hope it is a quick fix. Other than that it is a killer scooter...so much fun”
“Just got my Apollo explorer this afternoon. It's very well-built. I took it out for about an hour and a half for my first ride. I am 6 foot three and weigh 230 pounds. The Apollo explorer was plenty powerful to propel me to 30 mph. I haven't got to test it on in the hills yet but I did go up some slight inclines. It went up the inclines like they were not even there.”
“Bought an explorer scooter and am in love with it. I currently use it in order to commute as I am unable to pedal a bike(can run etc so am safe to scoot), can't afford a car and public transit is now risky especially for an asthmatic. This to me is a life saving, freedom providing thing that Greatly exceeds my expectations. The ride is incredibly smooth and the scooter is very responsive. Because of this and it's amazing lights I feel safer on this than I have felt on any bike or scooter. I only weigh 130 lbs but I don't mind the weight. The design is nice and folds to a stable package that I'm able to carry even up a couple flights of stairs. As far as performance goes its incredible. It has nice acceleration and more than enough speed but manages to remain very smooth and comfortable. I have never felt like I was going to be thrown of because of acceleration but at the same time you can get going really quick and it's enough to give you a good level of excitement. Brakes are great. They can stop this thing in a impressively short distance. 6 months ago I never realized riding a scooter was a viable option for me or even a thing, now after owning a xiaomi for a few months and testing several others I'm glad I went with Apollo. This company and all of its staff I have had contact with have been amazing. Imagine having the ceo of any other company text you to answer your questions. Well that happened to me multiple times. Every time they were very nice and helpful and always answered quickly.
Thank you Apollo For providing me with a way of getting back to work in these tough times. Thanks for making it safe.
Ps. Your commuting scooter has very beneficial side effects for your mental health. Most fun I have had in years. I never thought my 6 day a week 22km commute could be fun.”
“So, I had this scooter for about 2 weeks, here's my impression:
First, the quality control was a bit of let down. The grip tape was applied a bit mis-aligned and folded, not performance effecting, but just a sign of QC. Can always replace with my own. Just a nuisance. The rear brake was also mis-aligned, evidient in the pads squealing. Thought they had performed some multipoint checking and tuning before shipping? Also the handle bar came misaligned with the front wheel. Ok, now the positive. This thing has legit acceleration. Can handle hills. Decent supsension, although the front tends to bottom out a lot. last word, fun!”
“This scooter is perfect for Boston city commuting. The range can get you anywhere in greater Boston no problem. The dual suspension does well with bumps and uneven roads and the speed is usually enough to keep up with most city traffic if you need to. The scooter feels very high quality. The only issue I've had is the rear fender flaps and is very noisy and "cheap" sounding which really takes away from the actual quality of the scooter. I fixed this by putting small wire in the screw holes where the fender connects then putting blue Loctite glue in the holes and along the edge of the fender then putting the screws back in. Its now solid and makes 0 flapping sounds so I can cruise stealthily through the city.”
“Overall a good product but some glaring design flaws: 1. Rear mud flap held on by 4 tiny screws that screw into plastic. This causes loosening of the rear guard and then vibration. 2. no way to tighten the rear suspension as the current setup bottoms out with bumps.
The positives are many though: 1. good build quality 2. good acceleration 3. good lighting 4. decent deck size”
