fluid HORIZON V1 - 48V 13Ah - 30 miles Reviews

4.6 Rating 33 Reviews
After researching for a week, I finally decided to go with the Horizon 13Ah for my first e-scooter and I'm glad I did. I've only had the scooter for about a week but I'm already very impressed with it's design and performance! Ton of fun to ride and it has handled the rough streets of NYC very well thus far. Most importantly, I had a phenomenal customer service experience. I'd give 5 out of 5 starts to the scooter and 10 out of 5 stars to Mary! I feel very comfortable knowing that I purchased my scooter from a company that truly cares about its customers. To the extent my scooter ever requires any servicing in the future or I decide to upgrade one day, I know I'm in good hands. Thank you.

I've always wanted an electric scooter or electric bike. As I did my research and really thought about what I would be using the item for I settled for the scooter. This is a great scooter because of the cost, range (bought the 13ah battery), and the extra features of the scooter. I'm 5'10" and weigh 195lbs so I usually top out at 22mph on flat land. Although I've seen it hit and stay at 23mph for about a mile before it goes down and stays at 22mph. Going up an overpass I average 18mph, which to me good. I commute 8 miles one way and never worry about the battery running low. The ride is smooth and nimble but I can definitely feel some bumps and potholes in the road if I don't distribute my weight correctly on the potholes or bumps. Otherwise the ride is smooth. The takeoff speed isn't great. It takes a bit to get the scooter moving but I did read about this in all reviews. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me but for some who want fast take-offs may want to look at the WWPro. But given the cost and the true reason why I got this (save miles and gas on my car), this was well worth it. The brake light is a nice feature but I still rely on my own rear and front bike lights for extra visibility and safety. Setup out of the box was easy. This was my first scooter and out of the box this was a no brained setup. I double checked all screws and bolts and all were tight and secured. Nice to see the quality assurance out of the factory is doing their job. The only thing I wish they made for this scooter was a seat. I get lazy and tired on my commute and sometimes want to sit. Otherwise this scooter is great. If you're a first time scooter buyer I would definitely put this on your list of buying.

I have the 13 amp. I weigh 220 and the scooter does go 25mph. It mostly goes 21+ mph. Rang is very good. I get close to the 25 miles. It doesn't overheat so you have good power and speed all the way to the end until you recharge.

I bought 3 Horizon scooters and so far so good but for me being 210 lbs max speed is 22mph, my kids at 130 lbs and 100 lbs hit 25mph consistently and cruise right by me and battery power loss is more rapid for me as well. Lastly one of the scooters screen wasn't as bright as the other 2 and had multiple black spots in it but customer service sent me out a new one right away, that was good. In the end, they are fun scooters and am enjoying them but for myself I should have bought a higher speed scooter.

Hi Marc - Thank you for your feedback! Maybe the more powerful Mantis or the Apollo Phantom would be a good option for your next scooter. BR

I got this scooter about 8 months ago. I will keep it simple; this scooter can handle rough streets of Chicago. I weigh pretty light (135). It goes about 23 mph for first 5 miles and then the maximum speed decreases as the battery charge decreases. However, I get about 15 miles in one charge in gear 3. I totally recommend this as your first scooter. Not too fast and not too slow.

Like many, I started my Scooter journey first by renting them to buying my first cheap $99 Hover-1 Pioneer to now a new FFR Horizon! The Horizon might be a perfect step up from budget scooters. I chose the Horizon over some similar competitors because of the 500w (800w peak) motor, higher rider max weight, price, and positive reviews from Electric Scooter Guide on Youtube. The range and max speed around 23mph is also a plus. I had some concerns with a 40lb scooter but in practice, there isn't much of a difference between 30lbs and 40lbs. Bottom line, this is a quality scooter with great build quality. However, my experience wasn't perfect. The initial scooter I received had an issue where the motor would start buzzing/vibrating and lose power in the middle of my ride. I generally try to figure these things out myself but after I confirmed there was no tire or brake rubbing causing the problem, I needed help. I contacted support by email and received a reply the next business day. They asked me to provide some video of the issue which wasn't a big deal. Reply times really depended on the time of my responses which is what I expected from a small company. I can tell the support was appropriately troubleshooting the issue. Myself working in the IT industry, this is very rare. It was clearly something electrical and I was happy that I didn't have to go through a bunch of steps leading no where (which is very common in IT). They initially sent a new motor which was easy to replace and gave me instruction over the phone but it didn't resolve the issue. Changing the motor made sense but since it wasn't the issue, that meant it could only really be either the controller or battery. I started getting concerned because those are not very easy to replace but I was very happy when they said the problem was probably a controller issue and they would replace the scooter. I asked if they would be willing to allow me to pay the difference for the 13ah version of the Horizon. I really didn't think they would allow it but they did and that made my day. I don't think I've had a company allow this from support before. I got my replacement yesterday and I'm loving my new Horizon! Even though I didn't have a perfect experience, getting a lemon scooter can happen but I could tell Fluid Freeride did everything they could to resolve things. From pre-sales (Thanks Mary!) to Support (Thanks John and Jay!) to replacement fulfillment (Thanks Adam!), my experience went very well and thats more than I can ask for. Thanks FFR!

I hope you have plenty of time to wait after you order this, Shipping and customer support was ridiculous. 3-5 days turned into 13 days (I needed it for a birthday 11 days from ordering) Customer Support just followed a script and refused to help me. Blamed Fed Ex (Which they chose as the shipper) My Grandson loves the scooter, but me having to tell him on his birthday (and 2 consecutive days after) that it wasn't here yet was heart wrenching

Hi William - We are glad to hear that your grandson is happy with the Horizon. We apologize for the delay. Shipping problems like this sometimes happen and are, unfortunately, out of our hands. Thank you for understanding.

300 miles, I've rode this thing HARD. I mean hard. I'm hitting multiple jumps on this scooter every ride. This thing is sturdy. I've only just snapped off the rear mud guard, which is replaceable. 25 miles of range at ~23 mph (13ah version), this thing is exactly as advertised, no stretching numbers. My most recent journey was 19 miles, with a little less than 2 bars left on the display. The scooter is not fast per se, but it is quick, and it's fast enough to be dangerous on a sidewalk, so be careful. It takes skill to ride, do not try to exceed your limits, take it slow at first because you can seriously be injured. The breaks are good enough, but they could be even better. The solid rear wheel doesn't help. but it's lots of fun to let the back end out, a nice little flex on this scooter. Overall I love this device. It's fun and practical. You can take it just about anywhere. I highly recommend this as a first or perhaps second scooter.
