2019 WideWheel Dual 500W motor - 13.2Ah battery Reviews

4.6 Rating 462 Reviews
This scooter has exceeded my expectations! It has made my daily commute and trips around town so much fun, and I often continue riding just for the fun of it. I have the dual motor and remove the default speed limitation every time, and I arrive everywhere much quicker than I would in a car. People ask me about the scooter when they see me at intersections several times every day. The best way I can describe this scooter is that the difference between the scooter and a rental scooter is like the difference between a real car and a go-cart. They are two totally different experiences. My only issue with the scooter is the display. Even though I've been using it daily for a couple of weeks now I still often think I have set it on a particular mode only to find out after I'm using it that my settings did not take. I pull over and try sending it again. It seems there's no way to know for sure whether you have correctly set it in the right mode until you start using it and notice that it's not going top speed. But once it is set correctly, it makes getting around amazing fun!!!

I've been riding electric scooters for 5 years now, and this is a total game changer! This has got some torque and will get you uphill without losing much speed. The keyed throttle is a nice touch, and it's easy to switch modes, just not instant. Folding down the scooter is easy but not instant, feels more secure and stable for that reason. Solid design. Tight turns at max speed takes some time getting used to, because of the wider surface area of the tires. The suspension is good but could be better. Rough roads and cobblestone will feel shaky. Happy I don't have to worry about flat tires, cause when that happens, it's the worst.. Overall a great machine I think will last a while. Support has been amazing, always a prompt reply and great support. Really happy with this purchase. This thing is built to last, wouldn't change a thing.

I've had a chance to review the dual motor (1000W) version of the wideheel for about 2 weeks now. Here is my summary. The bad: (1) The suspension is practically useless. The suspension lacks any meaningful travel causing even moderate unevenness in the pavement to shake the scooter violently. This is not an exaggeration, you cannot take bumps in the road at the same speed that you can with your average bicycle. You need to slow down to walking speed to take these bumps. (2) The dual motor version only has a single disc brake in the rear. The braking distance is worse than a typical mountain bike at the same speed. (3) The throttle control is non-linear and therefore non-sensical. Only the last 10% of full deflection controls the speed. This is disappointing as they could have easily configured the total power output to be proportional to the throttle deflection. (4) The seat that is sold separately is not proportional to the height of the handlebars. It is too short and therefore too low to the ground. The shaft of the seat should be another 12-15 inches longer. (5) The top speed is around 25 km/h with or without the speed limiting turned on. This may be a function of the dual motor. The single motor may achieve higher speeds, but I have not tested this. (6) The battery level indication is rubbish. Showing a voltage of the li-ion cells is a very poor indicator of the state of charge of the battery. It is trivial nowadays to implement a proper fuel gauge that gives runtime remaining. The good: (1) battery life is excellent; (2) acceleration is excellent.

I received my wide wheel a few weeks ago, I've had limited time to use. My son uses it more then I do. I didn't think it was going to be fast enough at first but going on the net and figuring out the limitations certainly helped. I would recommend a front brake as well to help slow down the scooter but all in all I (we) are very happy with the product.

This is by far one of the best scooters I have ever tried. I am a hardcore enthusiast and lover of Techy, fast, and crazy things. This is definitely the top of the list. I did encounter a big electrical issue with it, but FluidFreeRides just sent me a new one to replace it and i couldn't be happier! Waiting for it to get delivered! Thanks for amazing scooter and service! P.s: very happy they kept their warranty promise!

I love the speed, the build quality and the ride. The things I don't like is the difficulty switching modes, the battery monitor which seems like and afterthought, lack of a lcd screen. Don't get me wrong, these thing are quickly forgotten as you start riding but would have been extremely helpful if they appear. Many lower tear scooters have these features. I would expect future versions to catch up and add these items. I do like my Wide wheel because it's different but If I had to do it all over again, I would go with with the Boosted rev for the simplicity.

Everything is alright so far, works well the only thing was when it was shipped a piece was broken where the stem folds down, a little max bond and fixed, but nevertheless it kind of killed the excitement when you open something new.
