Compared to the original from Eheim this extension prevents from absorption of fish and big freshwater shrimps. The removal of the film on the surface is not increased due to the identical number of openings. So it is a little better than the original

Unfortunately it desolved after a few months in use. So I contacted Green Aqua and they sent me a new one without any problems. The new one desolved, too. Within about 10 months. So I contacted green aqua again and they apparently never had that problem with one of the skimmers. They even checked with the manufacturer and obviously my desolved skimmer was the first they ever heard of. Anyways, Green Aqua gave we an amount of green aqua points accordingly to the worth of the skimmer and I could order another one. Even if this one desolves the next months, too, I will still be ordering that skimmer, since it works absolutely fine.

It does exactly what it was designed to do. Wow, I've had this skimmer guard for a couple years now and somehow never got around to writing a review! Thanks to a GreenAqua-adjacent friend I met via the discord, I was able to procure this guard for use in my tank over here in the 'States. It fits and floats perfectly on the 350 skimmer for these past few years and I've had it set to the smallest inlet adjustment with no issues and consistent proper skimmer performance. I haven't had to check the skimmer for survivors as every cleaning has been free of my tiny tank residents: neos, amanos, endlers, etc. Granted, if you're breeding shrimp/fish and the young somehow do make it up there, they are small enough... but a skimmer probably isn't ideal for a breeding tank for that very reason. Thanks again for doing this in helping to keep the world of aquascaping beautiful. ;)
