“On arrival I notice the HipLok can no longer be carried on your hip. (which is why I bought the first one). I think this is a good step in theft deterrent, however I believe any thief with common sense will probably angle grind the railings or bar that the bike is chained too. With the new D1000 in backpack, I am now aware of all the Bike points that are now weaker than the lock. The width of the lock is not wide enough to go around a lamppost, (an Item I don't believe a thief is willing to chop down for the sake of a bicycle) forcing them to attack the lock itself. Overall I have done my bit which is to add security @ just under 10% of the bike's retail value for Insurance and peace of mind.”
“I pre-ordered 3 new Hiplok D1000 bicycle locks online directly from Hiplok website on May 26, 2022, prior to full US commercial release. Hiplok was offering them at a 10% discount for pre-orders and they expected delivery by August, but COVID-19 global supply chain delays occurred and the 3 new locks arrived 4 months later on September 27, 2022. This delay was acceptable to me and I’m glad that I waited because the locks are certainly impressive. They are very solid, well-designed, easy to use and very secure. I recommend Hiplok D1000 to everyone!”
“Bought the lock for HD Breakout. Try putting it on the rear wheel no luck, works only in the front wheel and not happy about that. I would prefer locking rear wheel then front wheel makes it more hard to move the bike. Maybe make a universal motorcycle rear wheel lock, little bit longer. Overall great quality and built.”
