“The flow control connector on my Hose-Link retractable reel failed recently.Hose-link staff were very helpful and sent a replacement which was easily fitted to the hose, this is working perfectly. and I am sure will do so for many years to come.”
Hi Michael, thank you for your review and feedback on the flow controller, sorry to hear you are finding the water flow has dropped since installing. Of course, this would be the case if the ball valve was not fully opened but should not be any different to our standard hose end connections, they all have the same opening therefore, very surprised to hear this. Not actually something we have ever been informed of happening before therefore, wondering if the ball valve has been potentially seated incorrectly. “I find that this connection design allows for the two halves to be joined together when the locking tabs of each half are not completely aligned, this then stretches the the tabs & the connection always leaks even correctly joined. I'm of the opinion the plastic from which the connector is made is to soft & gives when not correctly aligned before twisting to lock together.Possible solutions would be use of different materials/plastics that have more torsional strength.”
