I attract ticks and am allergic to tick bites. Over the years, I've purchased lots of items treated with Insect Shield and have found them very effective against both ticks and mosquitoes--no bites when wearing that clothing. A few months ago, my husband (an avid golfer) ended up in the hospital for a week with Ehrlichia chaffeensis. It's tick borne, very hard to diagnose and can be fatal. He never even knew he had been bitten. Since he already had a wardrobe of golf clothing, we decided to try the Easy Packs. Ordered one, stuffed it with pants and socks (amazing how many can be put in one bag!) and sent it off. The treated clothing came back quickly and still fits fine. We were so pleased with this service, that we ordered another pack and then a third one when they went on sale. What a wonderful service that helps us enjoy the outdoors without worry!

I used the easy pack and got 4 pants, 4 shirts, 2 shorts and 6 pairs of sox in one bag by rolling the clothes together like I learned the the Air Force. Whole process took less than 2 weeks and Insectshield sent me emails of the shipping timeline. Easy pezzy. Wearing my clothes everyday and feeling relieved that ticks don’t want to hitch a ride on me.

I'm a professional nature/wildlife photographer so I spend a lot of time in the swamps/marshes/woods of Florida. Florida is loaded with ticks, mosquitoes, gnats, no-see-ums, etc. My primary concern is ticks. I've known too many people who have suffered from the sometimes horrifying consequences of Lyme Disease, caused by ticks. All of my "work" clothes have been treated by Insect Shield and that provides me a great comfort knowing that's one less thing I have to be concerned with. Lyme disease is nothing to laugh at; many doctors fail to diagnose it properly, most doctors don't know how to treat it properly, and some of the effects can be really bad and last for years if it is not treated promptly and correctly. Prevention is very important for my peace of mind. I have literally seen ticks jump on my pants and then almost immediately jump off again. Insect shield works for ticks! I worry much more about ticks than snakes or alligators. I actually love snakes and alligators, I understand them, admire them and respect them. Ticks, however are an unseen enemy. You generally don't see them, feel them, or know they are there until perhaps days later, and then it can be too late. Insect Shield may also work somewhat with mosquitoes, gnats, midges, etc. but nothing works completely in Florida, they are just too many of them. As long as Insect Shield keeps the ticks away, I will be a customer for life. Buy Insect Shield, it works!

We ordered the EZ Packs and had our hunting clothes treated. The easy pack is a great deal for your base layers, hats, and socks which are easily compacted to fit in the bag, however if you're planning to treat anything insulated like a coat or pants with an extra layer for warmth, the per piece option might work better, as one puffy coat would completely fill one EZ pack. Turn around was about two weeks including the shipping time, and considering recent delays in such things we had budgeted a month. Looking forward to heading into the field with a lasting permethrin coating next week.

I’ve purchased quite a few items over the years from Insect Shield and they all work great! I thought I would try this option and have some of my own favorite go-to items treated. It worked great! I was able to fit 3 shirts, 1 hooded sweatshirt, 2 pairs of socks and 3 bandanas into one pack. There was hardly any noticeable shrinkage. Insect Shield takes all the worry about ticks out of my hiking, birding and hunting activities.

This is by far the very best value in treated clothes. I had numerous shirts and pants that I use exclusively for hiking that I sent to be treated. I even bought a brand new pair of cargo leggings on sale and sent those in as well. There is a slight shrinkage, but well worth it for the peace of mind it affords me!! I have alpha-gal syndrome, a tick-borne illness that can get worse with additional tick bites. Wearing insect shield clothing has kept me protected and allows me to co to us doing the things I love to do!!

I managed to squeeze 8 pairs of pants and 5 pairs of socks into one of these bags, making it a more economical way to get these items treated than the per piece option. The items do shrink a little, but not so much that it's a problem in being able to wear them after treatment. And the insect repellency is effective and works after many washings. It has been hard to find ready-made clothing that I like that already has the Insect Shield treatment; therefore, sending clothes directly to Insect Shield allows me to buy or make anything I want and still have that insect repellent feature.

This is a very easy way to get your own cloths treated. I really like the process with the easy packs. I still box up and send in some items the older way because it can pencil out a little cheaper for some quantities of larger items like pants and shirts. I’ve been sending in my own field cloths to Insect Shield for treatment for years. Many a time I’ve watched ticks drop right off, though they do crawl around for a little while first. Mosquitos, been working great for them too, even on thin garments for the tropical heat they would otherwise bite through. Nice to minimize malarial risk without all that DEET on the skin. Not sure about chiggers and scrub itch, they continue to be a problem getting around clothing edges. In my experience terrestrial leeches seem completely undeterred by permethrin treatment. This factory treatment really does seem to last for the lifetime of the garment, at least it has for me. I’ve noticed some third-party retailers making claims that the insect protection extends beyond the edge of the cloths. The mosquitos happily bite me immediately off the edge of the cloths so not sure about the utility of treated shorts and short-sleeve shirts. When mosquitos are bad, or dangerous, I use lemon eucalyptus oil when needed on neck and hands to extend protection beyond long pants and long-sleeve shirt - very strong smell but seems to work well.
