“These are nice comfortable socks and of good quality just like all of insect shield products I have purchased. It has been a bad year for ticks and mosquitos in middle Minnesota so I where their products daily in the yard and woods around our house. I went for a long hike (3 hours) the other day with my dog and I had a steady 5 - 6 ticks on my pants through the whole hike. I kept track of them to make sure none of them got to my waistband and none did.
When I got home I always do a tick check and didn't find any on me. Their products allow me to enjoy the woods in the spring and summer. Otherwise I would be confined to our yard all summer.”
“I like having the protection from insects near the ground where they usually latch on, but my feet slide a little in my hiking boots and the socks pilled on the bottom after 5 miles. I thought these were a better deal than the hiking socks, but I would spend the money for the nicer socks from insect shield if you're going to be putting on many miles.”
“I work quite a bit in the field and typically I walk out with gators to keep ticks from climbing up on the inside of my pants. However, my current pair of gator’s strap are falling apart. In fact I was looking at buying another pair when my supervisor suggested I grab a pair of insect shield socks. They’ve been used and washed a few times. The end result…no ticks crawling up the inside even when walking through incredibly brushy areas, sitting or crouching down during botany adventures, and being out for 8-10 hours a day. Additionally, these socks are super comfortable and fit well which is shock considering I have small feet and it’s hard to find socks that fit well from toe to heel. They would make a great gift for avid hikers, hunters, or professionals who work outside. Add these socks along with treated pants/shirt and you have a solid armor against ticks latching on.”
“These socks do work, I have been cutting wood and hunting mushrooms in the woods, and walking the ditches looking for aluminum cans, and so far have had no ticks and no bites on my lower legs. Last year at this time after doing those activities my clothes were crawling with ticks and my lower legs were all bit up and itchy. I have not used any bug spray, just the socks.”
“I do like the socks, but you should offer a size XXL as the size chart is deficient. The XL socks are listed as size 13 to 16, yet after one wash
they are smaller, need to be stretched just to get onto my size 13 feet. Once on they are comfortable to wear but due to size hard to take off as well.”
“These are nice, tall soft cotton socks. I got them for my entire family for Christmas, since we all hunt. There are a lot of ticks in our area and these socks give me some peace of mind.”
