“I am an avid backpacker and hike in areas where ticks have become commonplace (Adirondacks, Vermont). Part of my outdoors time is spent volunteering as a leader in a high school outdoor education program (hiking, canoeing). I only wear clothing treated with Insect Shield and have never had to remove a tick from myself - I have removed dozens from students who were only using a topical insect repellent.
I recently added a number of articles of golf attire to my Insect Shield protection - not all my golf balls stay on the fairway so I'm now much more confident to go looking in tall grass for that errant ball.
Absolutely endorse and highly recommend Insect Shield.”
“Having my own chosen field clothes treated by Insect Shield is the best way to go! I find it very effective & long-lasting. I have been using IS treated clothes or buying directly IS clothes to protect myself from insect bites & it REALLY works! 5 years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that if I am bit by an insect my skin reacts systemically, so I needed to ensure I was not biten. Insect Shield has kept me safe & healthy!”
“Quick turnaround. Received over the holidays within two weeks of sending. Notified when shipment received and sent out. Bonus: clothing pieces had small label marking as treated , or in case of the socks, silk screened. As it is winter here, I look forward to seeing how it works in a few months.”
“Loved this per piece service. Yes, there is a little shrinkage on a couple of pieces which I expected. But not my socks, favorite hats, T-shirts, and even my ShapeWear undershirt still fits and gives me the protection I want when deep into the woods for the day.”
“Really the best way to go! Rather than spend a fortune ordering new insect repellent clothes and hoping that they fit you, pick comfortable clothes you like to wear in the woods or garden, and have them Insect Shielded. Less expensive, lasts virtually the lifetime of the clothes, fast service. No brainer”
“If you have extra shirts and pants or just like to continue to buy your favorites, the per piece treatment of your own clothes is a great option. Much longer protection than spraying your clothes yourself with permitherin. I do park restoration volunteer work and am regularly in the thickets cutting honeysuckle and buckthorn. Can't tell how effective yet as I just did this recently and mosquito season has died down where I live. We still have plenty of ticks and so far I have not brought any home with me.”
