“Pros of this system, are primarily the economy of the test strips, vs. the alternatives and the convenience of only needing one meter to read both glucose & ketones..
Con's are primarily the individually wrapped strips (the wrapping). Especially when one is trying to test both glucose & ketone levels with the same piercing (to avoid multiple punctures), the last thing that one needs to deal with with a bloody finger, is trying to open up a pouch to get a test strip out or get another test strip out, and secondly, these strips require much more blood for reading than my previous meters... Competing products tend to have strips in a canister, which had never been a problem in the past for me, and I'm normally either using an alcohol prep pad to pre-clean my finger, or washing my hands prior to a reading, so I don't think that sterility of my strips has ever been an issue.
In addition, although the marketing for this other feature may not entirely fall on Keto-Mojo, it was billed as being compatible with the Carb Manager app, and it turned out NOT to be (directly) -- in order for it to work with the Carb-Manager, one must STILL install the Keto-Mojo app, then create an account with the Keto-Mojo cloud product, and then permit a Carb-Manager cloud instance to share data with one's Keto-Mojo cloud account. What I wanted, was to have my meter just connect to my mobile device directly and put the numbers directly into my Carb Manager app to save me the typing - I don't want a whole slew of new accounts & passwords to have to remember, nor do I care to further spread my personal health information around the world through means and companies that I don't understand, and/or don't know or care about my privacy or safety.”
“Quality product but please speed up and work with Health Canada to obtain approval to sell in Canada. It's too much of a hassle to ship to US and have someone send to me. Also, please expand the product line to test blood type and A1C. Thank you.”
