OK, here goes: 1. Well, I started using the older model a while back and it was fine, then you folks removed some of the other diagnostic numbers, for whatever reason. 2. Those numbers are still missing in the new meter, though we get a new number – GKI. 3. The individual strip packaging is an absolutely horrible decision vs the simple container approach. I’ve already damaged a few stirps because of it and if the average cost is a dollar per strip, well you know. I already have to throw away strips from the old meter, because they won’t work in the new one. Again, more money in the trash. 4. The meter is smaller, harder to handle. 5. Operationally, it’s more cumbersome than the old model. 6. The numbers vary just as widely as the old one. 7. The app would never sync to my android phone, even for basic setup, until I physically deleted the app, reinstalled it, force a reset by pulling the batteries, the put them back in. Yet, I guess much like an acquired taste, you just have to deal with it. Well, you did ask. ;-}

It's pretty good. The older KM meter I have is easier to use and the strips work better. This one I have to be really careful how I put the strip, with it barely touching the drop of blood or it won't suck it up. I have to test each new package which uses extra strips. 3 of my individually sealed BG strips were empty. This one regulary tests about 3 points lower than my older model. Both models are very consistent with readings that follow my CGM fairly close. Better than any other BG monitor I've had. It's the only ketone tested I've had. The new KM doesn't need a key, but that wasn't a big deal anyways.

The packaging for the test strips is terrible: very difficult to remove them from the foil packs. Suggest you make them like Abbott Precision Xtra which have a cut out to facilitate tearing them open and they are much smaller thus saving material cost.

I think the meter works well and seems quicker than the first one I had. The test strips I liked much better in the little cylinders than the individually packed strips which are an absolute pain to get out and take much more time. It made a simple process become difficult. So I’m summary, improvement on the meter but not on the strips in my opinion.
