“I had the original unit (non Bluetooth) for years. The most annoying part was the 6 month limit in the ketone strips, realistically, how many people in ketosis wouldn't test 50 times in 6 months.
While they fixed the 6 month time limit issue with the ketone strips on the latest model, they caused others. The individual foil wrappers are difficult to open. I've damaged a test strip or two since there is no clear indication on the foil of where to open them. Plus the extra foil wrappers adds a lot to the landfill trash, compared to the old system.
The slot to insert the test strip into the meter is tighter/harder to insert, not the easiest thing to do when you're trying to swap between test ketone and glucose strips, while you still have blood on a finger to test the other.
Finally, the clock on this new unit looses time. About 5-7 minutes per day, so if I want to collect valid data and am not syncing to my phone immediately, I need to reset the time on the meter every few days.”
“I don't like the new meter, I thought it was going to be better than the first one. the strips are almost impossible to take out of the package, I don't know why they changed it. This morning my readings didn't pair on my my phone. I called Customer Support to return it but nobody called me back. I did love, do love the old one I made the mistake of "upgrading"”
“Honestly for the price it’s a great starter. That being said, I’m not sure I can afford to pay $60 for the strips. Even if all I wanted were ketones I’d have to shell out $45. So for follow up, I don’t think it will make sense for me to rebuy. It’s like buying an inexpensive printer and then finding out the ink cost 5x more. Maybe if there was a subscription that afforded a reasonable discount I would rate it higher. Overall I can only assume it’s an accurate reading of my ketosis state as I have nothing else to compare it to.”
“I had an older model of the keto mojo and I really loved it. It was easy to use and really helped me achieve my keto goals. The only downside is that I had to manually calculate my GKI. When I went to order testing strips, I was notified that there was a brand new model and was offered an upgrade bundle with trade it. Of course I accepted that offer, and I am thrilled with my new Mojo. It is easy to synch to the app via bluetooth, and calculates my GKI for me. I love it so much! Thank you!!”
