“I love the keto mojo because it’s one device instead of 2. It’s simple to use and very easy to sync your readings to the app. I gave 4 stars because the strips are not easy to open. The foil is very thick and doesn’t tear away from the strip, so I have to use my fingers to handle the strips.”
“The meter is gigantic, perhaps the dual circuitry for combined glucose/ketone tests requires more space but using AAA batteries instead of 2032 Lithium or similar was just a bad design choice. Portability is a big deal. The smaller the meter the better. Accuracy seems OK but the meter consistently reads higher than my most accurate old meter. I will be doing extended comparisons with those two meters including at least two reference tests to clinical blood tests. The foil cover of the test strips may be hygienic and preservative but are difficult to open. The foil is too thick and tearing at the midpoint to release the strip is taxing for arthritic hands unless scissors are at hand. The "wicking" of a blood sample does not seem as forgiving of position and angle and sample size as my previous meters. Time and practice may lessen the number of wasted strips. The test strips for glucose are twice as much as my previous meters, the ketone strips are about the same as other ketone blood meters. The meter allows only two tags indicating the type of test whereas my previous meters had four and five respectively. Experience with the app is limited but it seems rudimentary with limited tracking/graphing of results, time will tell as the data accumulates. The Bluetooth connection to my phone was problematic, and directions were unclear. A failed pairing requires stopping and then restarting the process and required several attempts to pair. Like every other meter I have tried it just seems the technology doesn't meet 21st century expectations. I wish Apple would design and market a meter.”
