The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer arrived just in time (right before my 5-year-old and 2-year-old came down with colds), so I was able to put it to good use! First, I LOVE how easy and quick it is to use! My 2-year-old is not a fan of having anything in his ears, but he didn't even react to having the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer in his ear! There is no clunky plastic cover that you have to worry about putting on or changing out afterwards, and once it's in the ear you get an accurate temperature reading in just a second—before your toddler even knows what's happening! Plus, I can say goodbye to writing down the time and temperature and remembering where I put it! By downloading the Kinsa app, the thermometer uses Bluetooth to share each temperature reading with my phone (and my smart watch). All readings are shared in chronological order, and the app tells you if the fever is considered mild or high. Each child has his own profile in the app. Even better, I can add to the app when I gave medication, which type of medication, and the dose! I even compared the temperature readings from the Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer to an oral thermometer to check the accuracy, and I got the same exact readings. Honestly, I can't think of a single thing that I didn't like about this thermometer. I'm definitely adding this to my list of top baby-shower gifts!”
“Kinsa Smart Thermometer for a sick day win! Stellar Product Testing Panel came through big sending us this amazing smart thermometer to test out. Sick days are hard and get even harder when you have multiple kiddos. Kinsa covers all bases when it comes to temperature readings. For starters, within the app, you're able to add multiple family members, so remembering recent temp numbers is a breeze. This was by far our favorite feature of the app! It keeps everything organized and compact within the app. The app is really easy to use and set up. It requires Bluetooth, but considering we always have our phone on us, that's not an issue. Initially, we made an account, logged in and added the members of the family. The app is extremely easy to navigate and change from user to user. We strongly feel that the app and thermometer gave us accurate temperature readings. To test this, we took temperatures multiple times to see how much the number fluctuated. This is the thermometer you didn't know you needed. We were really pleasantly surprised at all aspects of this thermometer and app. We would suggest this to all our friends and family!”
“The Kinsa Smart Ear Thermometer works great and is easy to use. Ear thermometers usually give you a more accurate reading than the no-contact thermometers.
This one is great on its own but I love using the app. You download it and it immediately picks up your thermometer as long as it is turned on. The thermometer uses Bluetooth and you can set a profile for every member in your family and it will record their temperature. This is so convenient especially when you have more than one kid that is sick , you don't have to write it down or try to remember what kid had which temperature.
I've used a past Kinsa ear thermometer and this one is more convenient because you just press the button once instead of holding it down to get the temperature.
We use this thermometer every day for our kids to make sure they don't have a temperature before they go to school or other activities where they will have a temperature check to make sure before we send them. The readings are accurate from what I can tell. We have a no-contact thermometer that says the same 97.7 temperature for every person who uses it but the Kinsa gives a different temperature for each kid so I know it's working.
There are no special covers you need to buy. This one you just use and clean. It has a probe cap for storage. It comes with batteries so you don't have to worry about those and it even tells you your battery level so you know when to replace.

“This thermometer is incredible. It is intended to be used with the Kinsa app, which was so quick and easy to download and set up. Once the app is set up, you can make a health profile for each member of your family within the app. When you take a temperature with the thermometer (also very quick and easy), you assign the reading to the appropriate family member in the app, and it adds the reading to that person's health timeline. You can also add symptoms that the person is experiencing, medicines and dosages that they've taken and reminders for when it's time for them to take their next dose. Every bit of this information appears on their timeline along with the date and time that it was input. These features will be SO helpful the next time myself or one of my kids is sick, so I can have a record of events to share with my or my kids' doctor. After going to the doctor, you can also add any diagnoses to the health timeline to refer back to later. There is also an option to add notes to the timeline, so once you meet with a doctor, you can add any doctor recommendations or things the doctor mentions to watch for with the illness. I tried the thermometer out on myself and both of my kids. I was surprised how quickly it reads temperatures and how accurate the readings were. It's typically hard for me to take my 9 month old's temperature because her ears are so tiny and she moves around so much, but I had no problem at all. We have multiple thermometers at home, but the Kinsa will absolutely be the only one we use going forward. “This is the coolest thermometer I've ever used. I love the app and the ability to set up profiles to keep track of temperatures. The app and setup is very user friendly and was quick and easy. “This thermometer arrived just at the right time. My daughter had come down with a fever and I didn't trust the accuracy of my other thermometers. I set it up with the app and within 5 minutes and was taking her temperature. The reading was easy, quick, and efficient. I loved the way the app allowed you to document each member of your family and their temperature separately. You can quickly switch between family members and clearly see a timeline of their temperatures. We are required to take temperatures daily for school and this makes the process fun and easy. Even my 5 year old was excited to take his temperature. I loved that it came with batteries and also a lid to cover to tip. Other ear thermometers I have had required me to purchase probe covers, which were often hard to find. With the Kinsa thermometer, I just use a alcohol wipe to clean it off and it's good to go. “I usually prefer the ear thermometers for my children and the Kinsa thermometer has taken it to another level! I like that the thermometer works both with and without the app, especially that it sends readings to your phone even if it isn't nearby and allows you to view them later. It's been so helpful to have a way to track temperatures and other symptoms for each family member. We can easily share with our physician or look back on past readings for reference. The thermometer itself is easy to use and captures an accurate reading quickly. Both my kids say it's comfortable! Another bonus is the ability to view health trends in the app based on your location. I never knew I was missing these awesome features, but I can't imagine going without them now. “We've had several different thermometers over the years & I've wanted to try the Kinsa thermometer for quite some time. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to connect to the free app. Within 1-2 minutes, I had it connected to my phone & set up profiles for each member of my family. Now I can easily track times & temperatures of my kids when they're sick and show or send the log to their pediatrician. This eliminates me needing to first take their temps & then remembering to record the time & temps in a separate log. When kids get sick, there's so much for the parents or caregivers to keep track of, this is such a great tool to make those stressful times a bit easier. I really like the fact you can click symptoms too. It keeps track of those in the log as well. The screen is large & easy for grandparents to see as well. I also really like not having to buy separate probe covers. It's easy to clean with a cotton swab and a dab of alcohol. Another feature is letting you know what the local illness risk in your area.
