“Litter is messy to where my cats drag it around the house and more noticeable due to white pieces everywhere. Also, it is dusty and dusts up the room.”
“I found this litter to be the dustiest I’ve ever used! Had to wear a mask to stir the litter for the plumes of dust generated. Even with the XL box with dome my boy is a high pee cat and the dome got sprayed and smelled. Had to go back to a regular box after just a couple weeks ☹️”
“My cats love clay and now matter how slow I went with crystals, they refused it. I needed something lighter than clay. And KPC HAD DIATOMITE. I use DE (acronym for diatomaceous earth) which KPC calls diatomite. It’s healthy, loves going back to the earth and doesn’t cause me breathing problems. My cats love it as well. It’s also light. While tracking can’t be helped, it’s healthier. It’s a better investment than clay.”
“I will start this by saying that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Kitty Poo Club! It made my life so much easier with no need to deep wash a litter box, no need to carry heavy bags of litters etc. Having said that, the diatomite little fell short on my expectations. I have 2 cats: a large and a small one. For many months we were doing well with one standard size box if fine grain silica, which I would change every 10 days. Great odor control, I was in love. When they released the larger size box, I decided to try it and we were able to stay odor free for a full 3 weeks (with 2 cats), which was amazing. However, the fine grain silica is very dusty. Everytime I would scoop, I would sneeze for a few minutes after. A small price to pay for great odor control and convenience. I tried the larger grain silica (great odor control, but hard to scoop up the poop without losing some grains) and the soy litter (amazing complete lack of dust, but was not a fan of the clumping, plus, the litter was too big for my scoop). Then I decided to try the diatomite. For the first week I thought I found my new favorite!! Very low dust, no sneezing session after scooping, scooping was a breeze since the grain is fine, not that much tracking. But today is day 10 and the urine smell in my house is STRONG. Like, I know I have 2 cats, but 10 days for the XL box is too little. I don’t know how I will survive the next week while I wait for the new litter . In summary: diatomite is low dust, easy to scoop, cats like it. But poor odor control compared to all others. Can’t wait to go back to the fine grain!!”
