I was really excited to get these boots as the shape and style look lovely online, however when you get them in person it is a let down. I am 5ft 6 and size 10/12 clothing and size 6 shoe. I bought size 6.5 in the wellies but the foot bed is too small and the ankle is gaping. The foot bed is slightly too narrow which means you can feel the edges of the boot with your foot (not very comfortable) and the ankle is bulging which doesn't make the boot look good at all. I think maybe a size 7 would be better and possibly a wider calf so the bulging ankle doesn't look as bad. I will put in an exchange as I really want to like these boots but if the foot bed is still too narrow and they still look aesthetically unpleasant I will have to make a return.

There is a lot of spare material around the ankle/lower calf area, makes it look quite unflattering

These Chasseur boots are true to size, I ordered half a size smaller and they were too tight. Only ordered that size as they didn't have my usual size but then popped to a local saddlery and found some Chameau Vierzonord neoprene lined in my correct size and they fit like a glove! The Chasseur are very loose around the ankle so if you struggle getting your ankles into boots the Chasseur may well be the right one for you. I found my foot slipping around at the ankle even though the footbed itself was too small so would say ankle area is very loose. The Vierzonord however isn't anything like as wide at the ankle. I'm a shortie (just under 5' tall) so was worried the Vierzonord would be too long in the leg but actually the rubber is so soft around the top it doesn't rub at all and is perfect. The Chasseur was slightly shorter in the leg but just to gaping around the ankle. For me the Vierzonord is defintely the better of the two boots. I'm just glad my local saddlery had them in stock for me to compare to. Go for your usual size, if you need width in the ankle/calf Chasseur is wider, if you have skinny legs go for the Vierzonord. Neoprene lining is so comfy and warm! Definitely worth going for that as opposed to standard linings if comfort and warmth is your thing.

Excellent quality. Had to swap them for larger pair, so they do come up a little small, I would say
