Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“Very warm and comfortable boots whose full value is finally being appreciated as the ground temperature drops to zero. The initial impression created by the boots was drastically tarnished by the fact that the buckle on one of the gussets disintegrated the first time it was tightened, a fault one would not have expected from a boot costing a tenth of the price. Had I written the review as soon as I had managed to reassemble the buckle and put the boots on for the first time a one-star review would have flattered them. If they last for the promised 5-10 years that first impression will have been forgotten and they will probably get five stars. Watch this space.”

“Really disappointed with my purchase and have had to return as a result. Physical sizing is accurate and I liked the brand comparison facility when ordering. The main issue is that the heel of the boot has no shape. This means it doesn’t hold your foot in the boot effectively. I expected a lot more for £190.”

“Lovely boots and always a pleasure to open a box of new ones. My old ones are at least 5 years old, still waterproof and will be demoted to second choice. These boots are comfortable, stylish and durable. Great warmth and grip. I can't recommend them enough and I am on my 5th pair.”
