“Can anyone make a Zippo insert correctly? I have not seen even one, not even by Zippo. This lighter by Thunderbird works consistently well so far, and one can actually see how much fuel is in the tank. However, the form itself does not allow the Zippo case to open and shut without using two hands: it's too tight and too tall, and the cam is not even functional.”
“Purchased the soft flame insert, and the item I received didn't hold butane. I contacted customer service and within a few hours I had dropped the package into the mail using the provided return label; and had redeemed my instant refund to purchase another insert which was shipped out the same day.
The insert fits the Zippo case perfectly and burns for a considerable amount of time before needing to be refilled. Works great for cigars. I was a bit concerned that the flame might not be adjustable enough, but the middle setting has been almost identical to a Zippo - on high the flame is eight to ten inches tall.
