“Our guinea girls absolutely love the meadow hay and when they hear it rustle, they get super excited and popcorn. Makes me so happy to see them munch away then fall asleep with their head in the hay.”

“Sorry but this is the worst ever hay I have ever received. I realise that this is cheaper alternative to your pure Timothy Hay but my buns aren't so keen on stalky hay so I thought that the addition of the Meadow Hay might tempt them (especially with the current shortage of Cotswold Sweet). The description states that it is more golden with some green strands throughout, also says good colour on the bag but the bale I received was virtually all brown and they wouldn't touch it. I appreciate that hay is a natural product subject to variations in weather etc but really disappointing and a waste of money.”

Hi Jess We are so sorry you are not happy with the hay you have received. Our Meadow hay is our coarsest cut of hay, cut later in the harvest season this gives the hay full crunch factor and makes it full of fluffy seed heads. The term Meadow covers any hay which is a combination of seed varieties so it will vary greatly between providers. We have lots of customers who love this coarse cut variety however it isn't right for every bun or pig. We do have detailed descriptions on the website for each hay variety however we are more than happy to help you find another alternative hay from our range if you would like support with this. I imagine our Silky Soft would be the best fit however this is currently out of stock so our next best match would be cotswold sweet. We would be happy to send out a 1kg box of this for you to try. please contact us on info@littlehayco.com so we can get this resolved for you.
