“I started my Luxy journey only a few weeks ago by using their text a stylist free feature. Use that! She recommended that I start with clip-ins and got my color matched really well. My original intention was to order a halo first. I'm glad I didn't because this is literally my first hair purchase and the individual wefts are a great way to really practice with placement and what look you want.
The halo only has one placement, so it is super quick and easy when you just want to get ready... super quick without a ton of fuss. The learning curve is really about learning how to adjust the wire to fit your head correctly, learning how to section off the "halo" area of your head so the halo sits where you want it and is comfortable, learning how to hide the wire (easy!) and learning if/how you want to place the 2-clip wefts for your sides.
I have a pretty small head and most of my hair is baby-fine. I can't wear more than 2 wefts of the clip-ins in back because I don't have enough bulk in my hair to create more than two horizontal sections and still cover up the edges of the wefts without risk that the wind blows and they show. If you have this problem, too, you can try attaching your 3-clip weft on top of your 4-clip weft and then clipping that into your hair. I decided to buy the halo so I can get that extra fullness when I wear my hair down and have the wire to hold most of the weight. I'm so glad I did. I watched a lot of Luxy's YouTube videos and found the learning curve to be short. The older videos tell you it comes with different wires from XS to XL, but they have updated the design since then. You get two fully adjustable wires so you have a backup. Their channel has a video that shows how to adjust the wire. It's not hard, you just have to spend the time tweaking it until the halo sits around the crown of your head in the part you create, and that's all exactly where it is comfortable for you. That won't be exactly the same for everyone. There's a specific area of your head, but then some might need it to sit a little low while others a little high, etc. I found my sweet spot pretty quickly and the halo is so comfortable.
It is very easy to hide the wire. There is a video tutorial for that, too. You gently comb from the roots towards the ends of your hair over the top of where the wire sits (emphasis on gently, but it's a sturdy yet comfortable wire. I have not felt it was at risk of breaking.) The wire will seat itself down as you gently comb around and over it. I practiced at home all evening after it arrived, and by the next morning I was sporting full beautiful locks and nobody can tell they're not (all) mine.
My clip-ins came with four 1-clip wefts. Instead of the wonderful two 2-clip wefts that came with my halo, I am using a 1-clip over each end of the halo to add extended fullness to the sides and, mostly, to make sure the ends of the halo band are covered. I clip it in right over the top of each end of the halo so it blends really well into my natural hairline and makes sure even a big Colorado wind isn't going to give away my secret. Those with thicker, fuller hair will love those extra two 2-clip wefts. My head is small enough and blonde hair is fine enough that the front clip shows easily if I use those, but the 1-clip wefts work great for me. With the halo, I feel confident that I can be out in the wind, or dance with husband, or pick up something off the floor and not reveal I'm wearing extensions. And the hair is gorgeous! Great color/color match, great texture, and the halo and wefts are high quality. You can wear the halo in low pony tail or low braid, or create a half-updo with your natural hair from the front and top. I am able to wear a headband with mine, though my goal is learn not to need it.
So did I waste my money on the clip-ins? Nope!! Absolutely not! With the clip-ins I can do all kinds of great updos that look full, soft, and beautiful. There are great videos on how to do that, too. I love Luxy's YouTube channel. Having both sets gives me complete freedom to have beautiful hair every day no matter what style I choose. You can create a full, lush updo by clipping in some wefts in alternate ways like upside down, clipping them around your own small crown ponytail to make a thick gorgeous high ponytail, make stunning half up styles of all kinds... and most of them are pretty easy. I'm not particularly talented with hairstyling and I feel confident that I can create these styles with a little help from the videos. This was worth every penny I've spent. The clip-in wefts are beautiful and I'm using them at least twice a week. Luxy's products, service, shipping... everything has been 5-star for me. If you've read this far, you're buying this. Use text a stylist first and let them help you choose a color. Then just buy it. You'll love it! I certainly do.”
