“I purchased the Mini DisplayPort/Thunderbolt to DisplayPort Cable 0.9m to connect my mid 2014 MacBook Pro 13inch Retina display to a newly acquired ViewSonic VA-2719-2K-smhd 27” monitor. “I had problems with my new Dell P2719h since, HDMI cable wasn't capable of sending good signals to dell monitor, which ended up blurring the text. So, after some research I ended up buying "Mini DisplayPort / Thunderbolt to DisplayPort Cable - 0.9m" from Macfixit Australia, and surprisingly the issue got solved. Overall, it was a good purchase. Upgraded MacBook Pro 13 inch mid 2012 and connected to a 27 inch wdhd external monitor (2k) (2560x1440) had issues with resolution through hdmi, this fixed it completely.
