Apple 85W MagSafe 1 Power Charger Adapter (for 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro) Reviews

This was our replacement adapter that was sent out. The quality seems poor, but I guess that's an apple issue. Macfixit were good to deal with.

Charges just fine, but it's short, be nice for the price that it was a realistic length

First one was a dud and had to send it back second one works fine, would've been better if the process could've been sped up I was without a charger for over 2 weeks due to the postage times.

I can't quite tell whether I got a faulty product. When I plug it to my Macbook Pro (and my girlfriend's), quite often the LED doesn't light up at all. And when I check power source on menu, 'battery: not charging'. To get it charging, I have to take the magsafe on and off several times until LED lights up + starts charging.

Hi Akira, I am really sorry that your power adapter is not working as expected. If possible please get in touch with our support people at support@clickspot.com.au and describe the fault in detail and we will send you a replacement free of charge. You do not need to send the faulty adapter back. Thanks again and I hope to see you soon in our store again.

Exactly the same as what you get from the Apple store, just cheaper. Replaced my old one that became very flaky, and without an external power source and a flat battery, all you have is a very expensive door stop. As much as I would like to replace my trusty 2011 Macbook Pro, at 3 grand, it’s just too expensive. Now with it’s replacement power supply, I hope to get at least another 5 years out of it.

I bought this Magsafe adaptor to replace the original one. That one had a block-like connector on the end of the cable, and over time the wiring frayed where it joined the connector, to the point that it eventually it stopped working. The new model has an improved connector that fits alongside the Macbook like an extension of the cable. Both models worked well as power sources but the connector on the new one is a more functional design.
