“I don't know what others expected, but the experience reflected in the positive reviews did not match mine at all. I was thoroughly disappointed. I expected a half chicken -- thigh, leg, wing, breast, maybe back. I got mostly pieces of the breast, or several breasts, one wing and no dark meat. The coating was very thick and not appealing. I left it on the plate. The meat was scant in comparison to the breading. The meat was also dry. Never again! Take this off the menu.”
“I have always been a satisfied customer of Mackenzie's fine gourmet quality selections. Unfortunately, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken was a major disappointment. There was way too much breading and of which was overwhelmingly spicy and burning to the palate. The chicken itself was not only hard texture but so very dry and contributed to the chicken's tasteless, this all in following perfectly the recommended heating instructions. A Member of my household had to spit his out. I reluctantly had to finish the remaining pieces over the course of a few days. “Better than homemade without the fuss of gathering all the good things to make this dish. Crispy and then the moist chicken is a delight to the mouth.
Good for everyday but certainly good for special friends and family on a special occasion or even a family get together for an outdoor gathering.”
