The Y-Wing is the workhorse bomber of the rebel faction. While the load-outs included in the original, Wave 1 expansion are somewhat obsolete, the wide variety of upgrades and armaments currently available give this tank some new life. The Y-Wing is situational in use, but can really pack a punch when flown well and paired with complimentary ships (or more Y-Wings!). The mini looks fantastic and includes solid pilots. While the cost of the expansions is always an interesting discussion, FFG follows through with excellent production and balance.

The y-wing is a great ship. Low agility but high hit points. The turret option makes this shine. The twin laser turret (from the k-wing set) can make a pack of y-wings really formidable, though the ion turret is still quite useful as well. There is a scum variant y-wing in the Most Wanted set, as well as a y-wing only upgrade. The named pilots in this box have some potent abilities which makes the y-wing a nice addition to other ships. Highly recommend picking up one or two of these if you play rebels or scum.

For a long time this guy was a bit of a dog in the x wing game, but recent fixes to bombs and new turret options have made this a fun, useful ship again.

This is one of the 3 small based ships in the game that is usable across factions by both the Rebel Alliance and the Scum & Villainy faction (requires the "Most Wanted" expansion set which includes a Y-Wing repaint figure and associated cards, dials, and upgrades). It provides you with a solid and dependable ship that can take a beating. Between the various secondary weapon & upgrade options available to it it can serve duty as a torpedo boat, a bomber, a turret platform, or (if using the BTL-A4 upgrade from "Most Wanted", a pretty solid jouster capable of following up its primary attack with a secondary attack from an equipped turret card (however if you equip this card then you can only fire at ships within your standard firing arc). The tradeoff to all this is that its a low agility ship, so you'll be soaking up damage pretty quickly. As you can imagine, its maneuver dial is also nothing to write home about, which can make it difficult to utilize as anything other than a turret platform.

The Y-Wing has been around since the first wave of ships was released for Fantasy Flight Games "X-Wing". Several years later in Wave 8, and the Y Wing is still one of the most viable ships available in the game. If you are looking to play with this expansion, you will also need a copy of the X-Wing Core Set. The Y-Wing model looks great, and it comes with a small number of upgrades. If you're just a collector, the ship comes with a great paint job and realistic detail. Like most of Fantasy Flight's products, its of great quality for its price. If you are looking to actually field your ships, the Y-Wing is one of the more versatile options available in the game. Thanks to the Most Wanted Expansion, Y-Wings are able to be played in 2 different in-game factions: The Rebel Alliance and Scum and Villainy. This makes the Y-Wing a great addition to any players collection, as you can use them to build in 2 different armies. In game terms, the Y-Wing is a slow but heavily armored ship. It can take a beating. It's upgrade slots also allow it for multiple styles of play. Either a missile ship, a bomber, or a 360 degree gun ship. I highly recommend this ship to anyone looking to build a Rebel or Scum and Villainy army. If you really want to make the Y-Wing shine, you may also think about picking up the Most Wanted expansion, the K-Wing expansion, or the Tie Punisher expansion. All of these expansions come with upgrade cards that compliment the Y-Wing and make it even better.

The Y-Wing miniature looks great. And while the ship itself is underrated by a lot of people, it's low initial cost and variety of upgrades available, both in this expansion pack and others, makes the Y-Wing a very utilitarian ship. It can be customized to fill most roles, and can be a huge surprise for an unsuspecting opponent.

The Y-Wing has always been one of my favorite fighters for the Rebel Alliance and it is no different for this game. It is limited with one agility and two attack, but with three shields and five hull, it can take a beating. It maneuvers like a large ship (it will stress going forward four). With the help of the K-Wing’s Twin Laser Turrets or the BTL-A4 title cards from the Most Wanted pack, the Y-Wing is now a bigger threat on the board. Pair it with the right Astromech or Salvaged Astromech and you will have a fighter that can stand toe to toe with most ships.

The Y-wing is a slow ship but, very difficult to destroy because of its amount of hull and shields. The great thing about the Y-wing is that it can have a turret equipped. The turret allows the Y-wing to fire in a 360 degree firing arc. Having this combination of great hull and shield points with a 360 degree firing arc makes the Y-wing a formidable opponent.
