Although it's meant to replace all other period products, the reason I didn't like pads was that gross feeling of sitting in your own filth and I don't think you can get away from that as long as you are "free bleeding". However with the cup I sometimes leak when I can't get to the bathroom on time, or overnight. With the period panties I don't have to use a liner just in case. I got a few of the seamfree bikinis and a boyshort for sleeping. Now I wish I had gotten a few thongs as well for those light spotting days in the gym!
