“Does what it is supposed to do except it needs store forward. Missed a blow because I closed the app to quickly after the results. Which caused all types of issues with my divorce and cost me 1000 bucks in lawyer fees.”
“I've used Bactrack for about a month now. I'm using the alcohol monitoring to help keep me accountable after recently seeking treatment for alcohol abuse. I have someone trusted set up as my accountability partner through the app. They receive notifications for any successful, failed or missed tests I have, and I can change/customize their notifications in the app. I chose to have my person set up as "accountability partner" instead of "monitor" because I wanted control of what my testing schedule is. I only test once a day at the same time, but you can set up multiple schedules or have the app request tests randomly if you need. The app takes a photo of you during the breathalyze test, but it doesn't get sent to my partner, just the result. I think you can change that in the app settings. I can see all of my testing history if I need to review any results. The actual Bactrack device has been very accurate so far, no false positives.
I only wish the app was compatible with Android because I had to purchase an Apple device in order to use the alcohol monitoring. I decided to use Bactrack in place of SoberLink because this is more cost effective. I'm planning to continue my subscription as this is part of the treatment plan I've set up, now that I am not being monitored in an outpatient program.”
“The product is easy to use and I like how easy and compact the unit is to use. Needing WiFi or 5G is inconvenient for using it. Otherwise I have no other complaints”
“Using for child custody. The device has been erratic with readings. 0.033, 0.016, 0.012... ten + minutes later 0.00. Nothing in my routine has changed. I followed all the testing guidelines. I have not had a drink in months. Every time it gives a false positive I have to take a $65 etg test. I have had to take two etg tests within a 48 hrs period, both etg test were negative for alcohol. The court system doesn't care if you blow zero after receiving a ridiculous reading of 0.033. All they see are positive results. After receiving false positive readings, I asked for a new device. I received it today used it once this afternoon 0.00, used it again tonight 0.013, tried the old broken device and it read 0.00. Too much is at stake, (family, mental, financial) to place trust in this device.”
“I hated the idea of having to use bactrack. In the end, it was quick and easy to use. Very small (could fit in pocket) and stayed charged for weeks at a time. It helped me maintain my sobriety most importantly. I needed the accountability and support during the time I used it, I now realize.”
