“Use daily to show sobriety, holds my self accountable, I don't have urges or cravings at this point in sobriety but if they do come up this is a convenient reminder that the monitor will show use.
I have had a few false readings, i simply retook the test immediately and got the 0.000 result i was expecting, unfortunately it still shows up "red" on the calendar and listed on the report”
“I use the product to check in with my better half so she can confirm my continued sobriety. It has been a great tool to keep me honest during my first few months. I have not had a drink in the 2 months I have been using BACtrack, HOWEVER, there have been 3 instances where it came back with a false positive test. 2 times I was in a cell zone with not great service and once was within 10 minutes of eating. (I believe raw onions can create a false positive) Anyway, if the cell coverage is not where it needs to be, BACtrack should let us know to relocate and try again...NOT indicate a BAC above 0!
Also, there are some random test requests in the early afternoon immediately following a previous test. I work. So it is not always convenient for me to step out twice in less than an hour to do a test.
While I would recommend this to a friend, it would come with a warning.”
“The quality of the mobile breathalyzer is good. It's a nice and inexpensive payment plan and shipped fast. The app itself was confusing at first but after I figured everything out it seems very easy to use. I like that it keeps track of every test you take and you can get a pdf file with the plus subscription.
The customer Service was outstanding she went above and beyond to help me. I also like that I get emails that aren't automated- these are real people providing excellent customer service. I'm definitely recommending to all of my friends.”
“This product does not have consistency sending results. You can take a test, which doesn't get sent even though it says you do. The operation is like this. You get an alert to take a test on your phone. You wait for the the next notification, if you take it earlier even if at the time, before, or after it will ask you again. So click on the notification at that time you get it. Then the device takes time to warm up.. the device is on but it's the message you get on your phone in app. Once warmed up, you blow and after some time, you get a flash saying test complete (may pops up for a 10th of a second). Then it goes away. You are done, or so you think. However, more often than not you will get a second reminder in 15 mins, go through that again, and then another one 30 mins after the first one you send and 15 mins after the second one you sent. If you want to go look at the history of what you sent you can't. Because it doesn't log that. This is all while you take the test from the same place on the same Wi-Fi connection.
Overall, terrible product. In comparison, Soberlink is 100% better as a product.”
“I would be cautious of getting this product. I have had over 10 false positives with this device where I had to shut the app down restart the breathalyzer and then one minute after the false positive I blew 0.000. Customer support only offers to replace your breathalyzer however I've received replacement breathalyzers and it has/always will continue to happen. While I Am able to immediately below is 0.000 after the false positive by shutting down the app and restarting the breathylizer it's still is on the record that I am blowing Positive and it kind of defeats the whole purpose. It seems like these folks are just the same kind of company as they all are is their product doesn't work and they'll charge you the money anyway.”
“Well, I goofed up! I exercised poor judgment and received a DUI! After that in order to keep my job I needed alcohol monitoring. With my job I am on the road quite a bit during our busy season and going into a clinic for testing wasn't going to work. Having the ability to 'take the test with me' (as with BACtrack) and get tested frequently satisfied my employer's requirements so I was able to continue working where otherwise I would have been looking for a different job. BACtrack helped me out when I really needed it!”
