“The Bactrack View app is easy to use. Great UI and easy to set random testing schedules as well as assign monitoring and accountability partners. The breathalyzer that comes with the service is small and discreet. Connects to the app via bluetooth and takes readings quickly. Overall, the monitoring service and app/breathalyzer do a great job of helping with my recovery.
The only concern is the time limit allotted to test for random testing, which is 30 min. Other services, such as SoberLink, allow for 2 hours (or the ability for the monitoring entity to adjust the allotted time). The fixed 30 min timeframe makes it difficult when I don't have WiFi or cell service and need to find connect, or, if I'm in a work meeting, it is inconvenient to leave in the middle of the meeting to test.”
“I love this product because it is accurate, easy to use and holds me accountable. The fact that it sounds real-time results to another party is a huge advantage.
The only downside is that you have to have cell service or WiFi for the app to work. It would be nice if it could still be used out of service and the results saved then sent when back in service.”
“For the most part, it's an accurate little tool. I've had several false positives, but it's always been my fault for being around products that have alcohol in them, for example shellac, certain paints, cleaners, solvents, etc. Highly accurate and very sensitive. My counselor has been able to see my progress, and can tell the difference between chemical interference or a genuine relapse. Once I figured out to stay away from certain products, it's been a breeze to generate accurate data.”
“I really like the ease of use. I wish it were compatible with other smart phones but we figured out a work around for using it as we only have one employee that is testing.”
