“This was my first crack at one of LEGO's architecture series but I give it five stars for the enjoyment of the assembly process and the look and detail of the finished product. For the most part the directions are clear and easily deciphered. If something doesn't fit the way you think it should, look closer at the directions and you'll soon figure it out. One word of warning is that there are many very tiny pieces that are easily lost, so the box's description of it being suitable for those 16 and older is probably appropriate. There are some extra pieces provided but hopefully you won't need them. The finished statue and base are actually larger than what you might have expected when looking at the size of some of the other buildings in this series. Definitely an eye-catcher and something that would look great in a den or office, which is where mine will be on display. Could they have done something different with the face of the statute, as other reviewers have pointed out? Perhaps, but remember that this is a LEGO rendition of the statute and pedestal, not intended to be an exact copy and anyone seeing it will know exactly what it is.”
“This is a really great Architecture set. Building it was short but fun. What I liked: highly detailed pedestal base & nice curves on body. What I didn’t like: lazy flat face design (I swapped some pieces to make it look a bit better, see pics) & torch arm could be a bit better, it doesn’t look right.”
“This is unique amongst the Architecture series, all of which are rather stylized, but almost all also quite small, renditions of famous buildings. The Statue of Liberty is, of course, a structure, but it's also a lot more. This set is more a rendition of the famous Liberty Island monument, than a strict recreation with blocky, muted features that make it both instantly recognizable, but also a slightly arty take on the original, rather than a full-on model. It's also larger than most Lego Architecture builds. While the pieces themselves are still very tiny—lots of those fingernail thin bricks—the finished product stands almost 18" high and is an impressive, unique decor piece, as well as the fun of the build itself. My 11-year-old Lego expert loved both the unique build itself, and the impact the completed work had, as it's earned a place of honor on his bookshelf alongside many of his favorite "for posterity" Lego projects.”
“An awesome set by Lego! The Statue of Liberty is fromthe Lego Architecture series. It has almost 1700 pieces and stands approximately 17" tall when fully assembled. The recommended age for this set is 16 and up. We didn't find it to be a difficult build, so you may be fine with a younger builder. The directions are awesome and take you step by step. Please remember to watch which way your base is facing when you are building. There is a cross beam in the base that must be in the correct position for when you begin the Statue of Liberty portion. Overall, a great value and enjoyable set. Definitely one to display! I have uploaded several pictures and a video for your review.”
“One of the best in the series. My only criticism is the lack of any detail in the face but the rest of it is fantastic. It is also much larger than expected and dwarfs most of the other sets”
