LEGO Architecture Paris Reviews

4.8 Rating 471 Reviews
This set is part of the Lego architecture series - it is a minimalist skyline of Paris showcasing simple versions of Paris monuments such as the Eiffel Tower and Louvre. It is small enough to easily be displayed and would be a really fun souvenir for someone who has visited Paris or just love the city. It is an easy build and a lot of fun.

My 10 year old daughter is very into Legos right now, but I got this set for a daddy-daughter project. We really enjoyed building this one together. If's not particularly difficult, but at 649 pieces provided us with several afternoon session of bonding time. The finished set is perfect for displaying and a little educational if you want it to be - fun to compare structures in this set to the real ones. Great set all around.

This Lego set enables you to build a collection of iconic structures of Paris. Included in the set are the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, Tour Montparnasse, Grand Palais, and the Louvre with its glass pyramid. This is entirely an architectural set, so there are no mini-figures included in this set. Since the actual buildings are so large, the scale of this set is quite small, and standard mini-figures would dwarf the buildings. The tallest piece in the set, the Eiffel Tower, is 8” high and the entire piece sits on a base that measures 11” x 4”. Special pieces in this set include some ridged dome pieces from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower, transparent dome pieces from the Grand Palais, and some interesting transparent pieces from the glass pyramid in front of the Louvre. Lego rates this set for ages 12+.My 12-year-old nephew enjoyed putting this set together. He enjoys architectural sets a lot, so this is right up his alley. Although he had great fun with it, I see some potential confusion ahead. The buildings are not to scale with each other, and they are all gathered together on the one base piece, as if they were neighbors. In the real world, these buildings are scattered throughout central Paris, and not within the same block as they appear on this base. But if Lego were to put these buildings on separate bases so that they could be scattered, the set would have no unity. Hmmm…I guess I’m looking for too much realism; this collection is sort of like a collage postcard, not a model city. In any case, my nephew hasn’t been to Paris yet, so he doesn’t mind the lack of realism regarding scale and location. I think the set would be a good prequel to seeing the city in person, to get to know the iconic buildings by feel before walking around and in them. Overall, this is an interesting architectural set, but keep in mind that it has very limited attention to details of scale and location.

The Lego Architecture line is one of the few I say really are recommended for 12+, simply because many of the parts are 1x1 plates and bricks, and getting those nice and straight can be fiddly. Once assembled, the set looks quite nice on display, especially if you have a few of the other skyline sets. The build on this Paris set is fairly straightforward. My favorite part was seeing how the Eiffel Tower came together, with clips and handle pieces forming the open iron structure. It’s always neat, to see how Lego designers scale down such iconic buildings.I didn’t like the all black pages in the instruction book. The sleek look is nice, but it was hard to distinguish part colors at times, such as if I should be using white or light grey in a step.

These LEGO architecture sets are brilliant, and also very well designed and accurate! They're perfect for the LEGO enthusiasts who also like to travel! Having been to Paris, this makes a great kind of souvenir to remember my trip by every time I look at it. As LEGOs go, it doesn't get much classier! I can't wait to collect all the sets of cities around the world that I've visited. I also love that they don't take up much precious real estate in your home and would actually be perfect for a window sill, floating shelf or a desk! This would also be a great addition to a kids world report at school and would be something they could build themselves! Way to class it up LEGO! I'm a fan!
