LEGO Architecture Paris Reviews

Legos have changed over the years. You can still get basic kits rewarding creativity, but these days, the most interesting sets have tons of extremely custom pieces that would only work for one thing. This is obviously in that latter category, but it's best to review it on its own terms, for what it is.At its current price, it's a lot less than the ten bucks per 100 pieces mark that kinda separates the good from poor values. The buildings are fun to build, and a kid would develop a lot of appreciation for the architecture from doing so. Completed buildings are instantly recognizable, and many of them are quite creative (from a Lego perspective... how they mimicked architecture), such as the clear lego roof on the Grand Palais. I really loved this set. The Eiffel Tower is stands pleasingly over the rest of the buildings.Elegant, fun, somewhat educational, and inexpensive.

My husband built this in an evening, and it looks really nice. Each section is recognizable as what it's supposed to be. I think these skyline sets are a fun collection.

I buy the Lego Architecture for my daughter-in-laws gift for Christmas and Birthdays. She loves them. She is an architect and she loves putting them together and displaying on a book case.

My 9 year old is going through a Paris phase, so this was the perfect gift for her. She immediately opened it and started building. It took her about an hour. It is a very cool set, with many iconic Paris landmarks all condensed into a small kit.

This set included numbered bags, which did not use to be the case for Architecture sets. That makes the build much easier. Like other Architecture sets, the manual includes info about the building and skyline in addition to providing directions for assembling the LEGO structure. The base is pretty narrow, and is only about 36 wide. It has the Grand Palais, the Champs Elysees, the Tour Montparnasse, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre in addition to the Eiffel Tower. There are new bricks to represent the base steel arches. It also has the French flag to fly.Overall, the skyline is nice, but it doesn't compare to the 21019 Eiffel Tower, which is a much more elegant build and has a better top. The best part is probably the Grande Palais as it uses some clear domes on top. Even the Louve has the transparent pyramid.

I have a few Paris-themed sets and this one is my favorite. Looks great and highlights some of the....well, highlights...of Paris. I started collecting these Lego Cities for places I've been and this is a great piece to represent Paris. An easy build, only takes a few hours, and looks great in the Lego collection. If you've been to Paris (or just appreciate it as a city), you should definitely pick it up!
