I was pleased by the way it went together I just wished they would have given me a sheet with motor so I could have gotten a prop nut like the picture has

The plane arrived intact, the packaging is top notch. Very well built, super strong structure yet light, I replaced most of the hardware though, it could be much better. Mine was not that easy to assemble, as an example the blind nuts holes holding the tailwheel assembly were full of glue, I had to break it away and rebuilt a new structure, it was a little bit like that to the end, for builders with some experience. But it is a very nice aircraft on the ground as in the air. Flew mine tree time already, perfect. The left wing had a bad twist, too much aileron trim was needed, very easy to correct. It is powered by an Extreme Flight 40cc equiv. spinning a 20" x 10" prop. Two 6s - 6000 are used, the CG is right on the nose with that set up.

This is my second one. Sold the first one after a full season. What a mistake! This is a GREAT flier, hands down. Step up and pay the bucks. Quality kit, very pretty to look at and one of the best damn flying models I've had. No complaints.

This is my second Fairchild. The first met it’s demise by Pilot error. The packaging is top notch. The hardware is top notch. Covering and the overall build is excellent I did the Maiden flight 3/17/22. Thumbs up

My first ARF so I don't have anything to compare it to. Didn't have any build issues. Running the NGH .38cc 4 stroke. More than enough power for this model. Maidened with 2 flights on 10/19/21. Flew great. Control throws by the book.

So far I am very happy with the Fairchild ARF and Motion RC. The price was fair, the shipping was free and fast. The ARF had the best packaging I have ever seen and everything was in great condition. I've only completed the wings so far but the rest looks straightforward. I'm going to use a DLE 35RA with electric start.

Purchased the Fairchild and received it in a timely manner. However, the fuselage had extensive broken framing. I contacted MotionRC support and they immediately sent me a replacement fuselage and rudder. It was in great shape.I am about 50% of the way through the build. Slow and steady wins the race on this build. The hardest parts were the tiny button screws (hole alignment issue) for the landing gear. They connected the upper and lower landing assembly at the wheel axel area. In hind site I should have assembled those pieces first before screwing the lower land struts into the bottom of the fuselage. The round black struts that connect the upper struts to the fuselage had a significant coating of primer and paint inside the black tube. It was necessary to ream out the inside of the tube to make the parts fit together. The tail wheel is a nightmare to screw on. I only have one screw in right now. The holes don’t seem to line up and there is no room to get your hands inside the hatch to work. I bought “Blue Bird” servos (made in Taiwan) which work well. An issue with the elevator servos (2 required) was causing the independent elevator control surfaces to act like ailerons when Y’d together (1 going up and the opposite going down). (HK didn’t seem to offer reverse servos). I had to put each servo on a separate channel and identify them both as elevator servos to correct the problem. I couldn’t reverse the orientation of the servo because the pushrods only mated up to the servo in one direction (the metal gear was offset to one side and not directly in the middle of the servo). The Engine cowl and the recommended electric motor don’t seem to be thought out. The stand offs (aluminum tubes) are not log enough to allow the propeller shaft to protrude outside of the center section of the cowl. Recommended fix was to cut out the center section of the cowl (ugh). In summary, I like the look of the plane, the quality of the parts and look forward to completing the build. The issues noted are just problems to be solved and don’t detract from the overall quality of the plane (after all it’s not a foamy needing only 12 screws to hold it together).
