“I have owned my Fairchild Model 24 Argus now for some time. Have to tell this, but she looks really nice in the air. The only problem is that it one flight and done for the day. I have no idea why this airplane on landings constantly flips over, every time I land it, it flips. So this nice model is no longer a nice model. Can’t get new wheel pants, cowl cost way too much to replace every flight. I don’t understand why this airplane flips. Would I recommend this aircraft, only if you like repairing it after every flight? Save you $530.00 and don’t buy this airplane…”

“A potentially beautiful model but so far I’ve encountered a number of construction flaws. The black trim on one wing was cut 3/8” lower than the other. After trimming the offending wing several spots of bare balsa were exposed. I’ll have to cannibalize some covering from the horizontal stab to cover those spots. Also when mounting the aileron servos I found that the hard points for mounting the control horns on the ailerons were misplaced. I’ll have to pull back the covering and install my own. Ugh! I’m also not impressed with the ball joints for the control linkages. They are overly stiff when screwed down. I may end up replacing them. Eventually I think that I’ll end up with a really nice plane but I hope not to encounter any more construction flaws.”

“My initial impression of this ARF was quite positive. And I look forward to assembling and flying it. However as I started working on the wings I noticed that on one wing the black trim was wrapped way beyond the leading edge. I had to cut 3/8 of trim off that wing so that both wings would look the same when viewed from the front. Unfortunately that exposed two small areas of bare balsa wood. These I think I can patch with covering stripped from the horizontal stab. But for this significant flaw in execution I would have given it 5 stars.”

“VERY BEAUTIFUL MODEL.I chose this device for its beautiful look, thin and solid at the same time in a particularly well chosen color, with an original front end.I regret a few points not really up to the whole.- The application of the Oracover has faults and scratches abnormal when the packaging is well done.- The depth rods are too short and require a repositioning the servos.- There are errors in the supplies.- Some holes for the hinges are badly made.Except for the Oracover, these small anomalies can be resolved by all model makers.*** I WANT TO REPORT AN INADMISSIBLE POINT ***, which I have already reported to the Motionrc staff, from which I await a response. The Admiral GP26 6330-245kV Brushless Motor is recommended to equip the Fairchild. If I do not doubt its capacities to propel the model, I can say that the assembly plan once the engine fixed on its support, forget to explain in what way it is necessary to proceed to install the false engine plate, the hood and the propeller.Quite simply, without destroying the motor plate, it is not possible. (I do not accept this massacre, the manufacturer must assume the choice of motorization) ---------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------- * PLEASE TAKE INTO ACCOUNT YOU ALSO, * * THIS STATE OF FACT TO FOLLOW THE INFORMATION AND * * TO REMEDY. * ---------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------- Sorry for the continuation, it is necessary to remedy the problem, impossible to make fly a model which is not suitably finished and it will be after the covid 19 (not for tomorrow .. !!!)”

“What a beautiful and impressive scalie! As a modeler with 50 years of experience, I have to say I've not built an ARF that was any better than this one, for scale accuracy, good construction, and unexpected niceties that are not found in other ARFs of this caliber. Holds up well against another favorite of mine, the Hangar 9 quarter-scale Cub. The Black Horse Fairchild comes with hinged doors that open, a dummy radial engine molding, a two-piece wing with joiner tube and functional wing struts, functional landing gear with spring-loaded shock struts, steerable scale tailwheel assembly, airfoiled tail surfaces, a large windshield hatch for easy access to the fuel tank and batteries, scale instrument panel with dials, full hardware set including fuel tank, and even two seats for the cabin. The covering and color scheme are truly gorgeous, and expertly applied with no wrinkles or bad seams. The only negative is the ABS wheelpants, which really can use some fiberglass reinforcement on the inside for better durability. I mounted a Saito 180 in my Fairchild, and I can't wait for the spring weather to arrive so I can fly it! What a beauty!”

“Finally finished the build and the plane made its maiden flight yesterday morning and it was great. Aside from a little trim the plane flew great. It definitely gets noticed by the other pilots. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great flying as well as looking plane.”
