“I was thrilled to receive it, and absolutely amazed by how quickly it arrived. Unfortunately, no signature was required, and it was left standing up right in front of our front door where any porch pirate could have seen it and grabbed it. Fortunately that didn't happen. When I unboxed it, I was delighted that only five small pieces had broken off. These were quickly glued back on. As I read the one-page instruction sheet, I had several questions about charging the battery and whether there might be certain accessories available to really make the model amazing at the pond. I've sent two emails with my questions, but nobody has even acknowledged them or responded. I haven't had the model in the water yet since the temperature here is currently 8 degrees above zero, but I'm looking forward to customizing this boat to make it a real attention grabber.”

“I got my ship earlier than expected and unboxed straight away. All went well but the rigging was a bit of a pain. No worries, all rigged and looking great. Still looking for scale decals for ships name and hull numbers. Any suggestions on where I can get them?”

“The boat arrived in relatively decent shape. Some minor fittings had fallen off or were missing. The adhesives used on the scale fittings could definitely be better. Couple of ladders and one of the steam sirens missing. Replaced with 3D or scratch made. Ballast used was 7 pounds, 2 in the bow, 1 pound in the stern, 4 in the mid hull. Radio converted to Futaba T-FHSS. Batteries are 2S 4.0 connected in parallel. Run time should be over 2 hours. Drive train operates flawlessly. Had to use 5 mm ID brass tubing in the 5 inch mounts to get them to seat properly. The boat now represents the DD-533, sunk at Samar, Battle of Leyte Gulf, Oct. 1944. Quality of the hull layup is superb.”

“Boat was everything I expected it to be. The packaging was in really great shape and everything was secure in the main box. I have already put it in the water. Ballast seems to be about 2 1/4 lbs to bring the waterline level from bow to stern. Overall I am extremely pleased with this model.. Acouple of thing I think would help to improve it would be some suggestions on how to set up servos to make the gun mounts rotate along with the Air Search Radar anntena.”

“Just got mine a few days ago and as we are several months from Minnesota lakes being ice free, I have not had a chance to take her out yet. That being said it is great looking DD and is well put together. I was scared to death this would be destroyed in shipping (and it was of course left on my porch standing on end by Fedex) but it arrived in great condition. The only issue I had was that the the hole for the forward turret has never been drilled but that was super easy to correct. Assembled smoothly and the static test went well. Would definitely recommend!”
