The gear came with my PJ-50 Freewing Jet and after flying the jet for 4 Saturdays one main gear failed. It would not retract, but you could hear the motor spining. The issue was that the thread inside of the rectaungular plate inside of the gear got worned out, so the motor was rotating the shaft inside of the gear but the rectangular plate had no thread so it was not being moved by the rotation of the screw. I am a Prinicipal engineer and the conclusion I reached is that the meaterial the rectangular plate was made of is too soft and too brittle. For that reason it gets 1 star. The rectangular plate is made of some kind of composite material. Search YouTube for Freewing Retract Failure.

The product is sold only with 4 screws, not with several as shown in the photo. The photo does not match the product being sold.

The gear would not initially operate. I took it apart. Discovered that the plastic housing was too tight around the main gear bushing. I carefully used a Dremel bit that was the correct diameter and widened the whole on each side. I put the gear back together and it now works perfectly. Basically the plastic “bushing/housing” tolerance prevented the gear from deploying. Easy fix if you’ve been around the hobby for a few years.
