“Despite carefully following the directions and taking extra care with my solders, I could not get the radio to work. The LED would light up, but no sound at all. Elenco support checked a photo that I sent along of my connections and though they looked fine. The support person had a few suggestions but after days of trying to troubleshoot the problem, I gave up.Ordered a different AM/FM radio project from another supplier and got it to work fine on the first go. I suspect that a component may not be working properly on the elenco product.”
“Great little solder kit. The automatic ranging works okay, but can skip over audible stations. It's plenty loud and comes in clear. The speaker doesn't stay on well, but I printed a case for it to rectify that.”

“This is such a great set for kids who are learning soldering. It is not for the beginners, but my son just had a little soldering experience prior to doing this one. My husband has helped him in the process. It comes with good and helpful instructions. Son was very proud of finishing the radio and it works very well. Worth the money!!”
“I was able to assemble and use the whole thing which works like a charm as long as I don't touch it too much. I had to space out the coil myself even which worked. I want to mention, though, that the battery pack was too big and did not fit inside the allotted box printed on the board because of connections that I had already made. Fortunately, I was able to bend the contacts and make it work with some tape, but I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. I will say, the addition of solder in the package was a nice surprise but doesn't make up for this oversight.”
