So what is with the thickness question anyway? Why do these guys care about that? Okay what is important, my grandkids could have played for hours with only one feature of this, the helicopter. Not a big deal but they are learning something just the same. I know I'll have lots of fun with them exploring this.

Was a Christmas gift for a ten y/o home schooled boy. I think when he first opened it he just liked how many pieces there were. He stated building some circuits on his own, just copying the pictures, which were nicely descriptive, easy to read and use. Since each circuit he built worked, he was encouraged to keep trying new ones. He also seemed eager to put a check mark in the completion box for each, but the number of possibilities seemed like it will take him some time to complete all of them. He is home schooled, so used to working on projects on his own and this seemed right up his alley. Mom was interested in being able to use some projects for school curriculum fulfillments. By the next day, he was starting to ask why these worked, what each part did, how he might make something of his own design, or combine projects, for example a light project and a buzzer project into one that did both, how to use the fewest parts for this, and so on. Pieces seemed both hardy enough to last for some time and plentiful enough to allow some creativity. Happy with this purchase on all levels.

My oldest son wanted this for a long time. We finally got it [only 6 days earlier than expected]; and he hasn't stopped! Even dear old dad [me] got into the fun. I think we'll get the full use of it.UPDATE: I have actually used this to assist other people with their questions! We still tackle projects [each one of us at different times, of course], and the enjoyment has yet to fade.

I bought this for my kids before they were old enough to even use it (who am I kidding, I bought it for myself! Lol). This is great for anybody who wants the learn basic, as well as advanced electronics, all while never being able to electrocute yourself. Safe and fun enough for a 6 year old, and informative enough for an adult.

I bought this kit for a friend's birthday as she wanted to learn more about electricity. She is enjoying it immensely.
