Snap Circuits Student Training Program with Case Reviews

4.8 Rating 203 Reviews
I just recently finished an electronic technician program at the local community college and my 6 y/o son was always wanting to help. So, I bought this for him for his (6th) birthday. He loves it. He likes being able to make something that works and it gives us a chance to do something together. Many, many projects in the 5 project books that come with it. Would be nice if it explained how the components work, though, to help to better explain it to my son.

I got this for my niece who is seven. I did the first two projects with her and then she was off. She really enjoys playing with with. Ny nephew who is 16 was also all over it. The peaces are very durable and easy to put together and take apart. The diagrams are easy to follow but they may have a little trouble with the over lapping blue peaces. The black board is difficult to see on the blue but once they are use to it there will be no problem.

I got this for me, I mean, my six year old son. It is something we can both use together and have a good time learning electronics.

I chose the complete set since the first set I bought for my 6 year old was such a hit. even though the age reccommendation is 8+ my 6 year old could easily follow the directions and was so thrilled to see his gadgets materialize before his eyes! A great way to teach kids about electronics and circuits.

I saw these snap circuit things during the last few weeks of my physics class and i decided i wanted to buy one for myself to help learn circuitry. As soon as i got it i went to the first project with space wars, the one part that didn't work in physics. i was disappointed to see that this was the case as well here. i then checked the other electronics and found that the photo resistor and the whistle chip (two pieces used in MANY projects) were also not working. I have emailed the company for replacement parts and chalked the inconvenience as something happening during delivery. as disappointing as this experience was the projects i could do were fantastic and fun. i will update when i get an email back from the companyUpdate: The company will send replacement parts. will update when i test replacement partsUpdate 2: after about 2 weeks i got my replacement parts. they work and i can finally get a proper run through the projects

Contains just about every type of electronic component I'd like to teach my daughter about. The documentation is fabulous and gives instruction along with background on what is happening under the hood. Love the case, makes it very neat and tidy. Overall I've been very impressed with it.

If you like knowing how things work you will love this set. I have a son who only wants to play video games but this circuits kit has enthralled him by being able to make different electronic devices, learning how it works, and experimenting with altering the circuits to see if you can predict the change that will happen. Very cool. This set will supply hours of fun, learning, and discovery, especially considering I have more kids, and the projects are not used up when you make them but are disassembled and can be used over and over. The case is nice and everything has its place. New pieces for ones lost or broken can easily be purchased individually from the manufacturers website - an almost unheard off benefit with most toy makers. I also bought the Battery Eliminator which has a spot made for it in the case. I was very impressed overall.
