got this for my 7 year old, he absolutely loves it. Many cool projects to build and the book that comes with it is just great. Colorful and easy to understand instructions, durable construction... if they made a larger kit, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

My grandson has adhd and autism and he loves these! He stays engaged with them. His parents also use play time with these as a reward.

The product came with a big hole in the box with two pieces of tape holding the box closed. Didn't ship inside of another box even with the obvious damage. Not sure if this was the seller or shipping handlers. I've never had a problem with in-store purchases of other snap circuit units and the kids love them. Hopefully all of the pieces and connections work appropriately. I probably won't buy online again, rather in-store.

The best way kids learn about STEM is to DO IT YOURSELF! My own kids used Snap Circuits when they were young. Kept them busy for hours building scores of really fun projects, and taught them how to troubleshoot circuits. The enclosed instruction manual is a wealth of information in this kit. There's an entire lesson on electricity, circuitry, and light in this book. Plus, this kit touches on fiber optic experiments, which is incredibly useful. The board is plastic, but pretty durable. Using snaps just like the ones on an everyday jacket or bag, children snap the circuits to the board and connect them in the right direction to trigger cool lights and colorful fiber optic displays. There are switches and sensors too. Requires 4 AA batteries that are not included. A safe and very effective way to teach kids about circuits, electricity, and light. There's a mechanism to plug in an iPod or any music device with a standard headphone jack, but those are hard to come by these days. Still, countless great lessons for inquisitive kids, and an awesome STEM learning toy. Teacher and engineer APPROVED.

I had the basic Snap Circuit Junior as a kid and absolutely loved it, so that being the case I bought the Lights Snap Circuit for my niece last Christmas and she absolutely loved it. She still sends me video's of the things she's created! I love watching her engage her brain in so many good and healthy ways.
