“The component works well but is let down badly by poor consideration by designers regarding forces needed to be handled by the plastic housing during landings ( not every landing is smooth ), the unit is not durable. A rather helpful modification is to manufacture a 2mm thick aluminum doubler plate to place over the mounting lugs of the mechanism, I have found that modification improves the resilience of the housing quite a bit, however a true solution would be to make the housing out of alloy at the time of manufacture. I wonder why Freewing put this less than suitable mechanism into the F86 80mm EDF Sabre which is a lovely aircraft. Seems pointless to me.”
