“Received model and noticed that it was well packed. Reviewed all the parts and it seems to be in good condition. Pretty looking F18. Once I put it together I’ll take it for a flight and will come back and make a second review based on the flight.”
“This thing is awesome! It is my second edf, first one being the F9F Panther(may it rest in peace wherever it is) ... This plane is so fun to fly! After a little fine tuning with the throws and expo I have it flying very scale flight with no real limits in power. The lack of rudder hurts at times, but it is what it is... you just need to fly around that. I removed the nose gear but installed the gear mount with enough weight to balance the plane right around the middle of the recommended range. It hand launches FAR BETTER than my Panther did and landing is a breeze, just as long as you have enough room because the plane takes a while to slow down. I highly recommend this plane! It is sick!!!”

“If you don't have this jet, what have you been waiting for? This jet has insane value & speed. The speed is definitely close to 70mph and good power for takeoff. Assembly is mostly glue free, it is nice to be able to screw together. The only hard part is getting in the front landing gear, just some tough screws. I highly recommend a A3 Super 3 Gyro. I operate the plane with a Spektrum DX6 Transmitter and Admiral RX600.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dual Rates: Aileron- 65%, Elevator- 40%, Rudder- 100% (Outer hole on Servo & Control Horn)Expo: Aileron- 30%, Elevator- 40%, Rudder- 50% Gyro Gains: Aileron- 10%, Elevator- 50%, Rudder- 50%. (Connect the gear servo to the gyro)”

“Just to get it out of the way the 4s F18 by Freewing is an outstanding plane. Definitely not a first EDF because of one main reason. The reason is even with 4cell power the plane is moderately underpowered so if in trouble there is no going vertical, however if you fly straight and level with minimal acrobatics it’s a joy to fly. You will have success with you F18 if you survive takeoff. On takeoff if you go into a turn right away you will lose power and stall. So what I found out is to keep the plane on the ground for a little longer than normal and SLIGHTLY pull on elevator and fly STRAIGHT to gain airspeed then go into a shallow turn. Overall it’s a great jet and sounds great too. Just stay away if inexperienced with edf because it is a little underpowered, however it flys on rails.”
